That's Peter Snow's trouble. Too damn soft. If it was left up to him he'd have taken a sympathetic view of his own swingometer and awarded every General Election since 1987 to the Liberal Democrats.
His brother (cousin?) Jon on the other hand, hard as nails. Don't let the snazzy ties and the pushbike fool you he's nobody's fool. Gave a good account of himself in skirmishes with Idi Amin no less back in the day (really, I read his autobiography). Same goes for his Pakistani/Irish sidekick Tristran Guru Murphy, I wouldn't want to meet either of them in a dark alley.
