It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye

Yeah, that's what we've done on holiday, without internet access - watch The Wire. What are we going to do when we get to the end of the final series though?

I bet you are too cool to need to watch it with the subtitles on like we did. Ahem.

In the fourth series the song is performed by Jimmy Somerville.

No betty, I'm too inept with the dvd remote control to know how to turn the subtitles on.

geoff - I don't believe you - but neither do I know why you'd make that up...

Ironically, The Wire is as addictive as the drugs the hoppers are pushing. I'm a huge fan of the dramas of Bodymore, Murdaland and I'm currently waiting on Series 5. It just gets better and better. Enjoy!

I blame Tim of course:

Georgina - I've been clean for four days now, but that's due to a cash flow problem.

(I am also blaming Tim at the moment; but I think that's mostly due to pms)

Well, it will be worth the wait. Luckily as time goes on, the street value of the earlier box sets decreases. I foolishly checked out a Wire fan page not so very long ago. It was filled with spoilers which just fell into my eyes. Don't be that sad. Stay on the wagon!

If you have Sky/cable they show it on FX, currently showing season 3, but this won't help unless you can travel back in time. Some DVD rental shops have the boxsets. If you have fast internet and loose morals you can get it off internet. I'm so addicted I'm watching series 1 and series 3 at the same time.

it kind of reminds me of the days of microfiche and library cards...well not the dvd part though!
