It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye
You need to name names, you know. You have to duty to the rest of the world to remind people that this is a show they must not fail to miss.
Can it have been worse that my gig experience last night? 15 minutes before he was due to go on stage, and after I'd paid for my second pint of overpriced crap beer, they announced the gig was cancelled because Fish had lost his voice. Again.
I can't name names - I don't know who it was! I shouldn't worry though, you're not likely to stumble across him in a professional environment...at least I should hope not...Sorry about your night - you would think they could've let you know sooner...or am I being naive??
He's posted an explaination on his website; his voice apparently was a bit rough on the soundcheck, but he thought it would sort itself out when he warmed up. But he managed to lose his voice completely over the next hour or so.
Now he's seen a doctor and been advised to rest his voice for several days, and the gigs in Sheffield, Holmfirth and Nottingham have also been cancelled. There goes the plan to pair him off with Nora Batty.
Well, he may have cancelled the gig, but he did leave a comment on my blog
