It's all fun and games until somebody loses an eye
When reading the aptly named Mr Grimmer's write up, I was shocked to discover the words "Although explicitly staged events...".
I thought he just happened upon these scenes of his relatives lying in the road with animal masks on!
I did like the horses, I must admit (I know that'll surprise you...). The roadkill thing was extremely sinister, but certainly more interesting than the shiny lips.
I've just spotted The Family From One End Street! That was one of my favourite books when I was a kid - I absolutely loved it. Just seeing that pink cover reminds me of Carnation Lily Lily Rose...
J - that's the beauty of 'library thing'. When you see the cover of the edition you had/read it all comes flooding back!
murph - Mr Grimmer is from Norfolk, so it's not unreasonable that you should have thought that way.
