Gravatar I think Mother's Day can be hard because it comes across that we should be perfect. I think your Bishop was wise! One of my favorite sacrament meetings was when a man in my ward talked about how dysfunctionally funny his family was. I know you aren't looking for a compliment but I think you are an amazing mom. You are a perfect mom because you are YOU! I admire you and think the world of you. Happy Mother's Day Melly! Not just for today but everyday!

Gravatar Luckily, this Sunday everyone said positive and uplifting things about mothers, yet reminded us of the critical phrase that we must do every thing in wisdom and in order (not all at once). I am starting to find joy in the process of mothering not the final result. It is fun to be a mom.

Gravatar That last post was me.

Gravatar I, too, love being a mother. I love your pictures.
Hope you have a great day.

Gravatar My mom talked about how the Lord's work wasn't done until he created woman. She talked about the special nature of our work and how we are equal to the Savior with out having to have a power given to us. She was quoting Pres. Hinckley and others. The most touching was when she quoted that the Lord began with the most insignificant creation and end the most important. It was great.

Happy Mother's day Mel.

Gravatar I'm glad that you had a nice Mother's Day and that you didn't end up skipping church! I loved your pictures!

Gravatar I'm glad your mother's day was nice. loved the pictures!

Gravatar I agree with you! Mother's Day is always bitter sweet. I love my kiddos more than anything, but that day seems to bring out the worst in me. I just need to think about those close to me who would like to be a mother more than anything and have yet to have that opportunity.

Gravatar I remember advice from moms older than I when I was a young mother. Many times they said to just enjoy your kids now because they grow up so fast. Now that I am at that stage in life I know what they mean.
I too had the distrubing feeling on Mothers Day hearing all the praise given. Then I learned to take the positive that applied to me from all that was said and disregard the discriptings that were not me. You can only do what you can do now. To every thing there is a season.
Now, I'm finding Grandmahood is the best season.
