| I heard the comment from the person in Iran saying \"I like America and I like Americans, I just don't like their government\". I'm a natural born American, and here's what I have to sat about that: \"I like America and I like Americans, I just don't like our government\".

| Answer lies in the defenition of Terrorism itself. Terrorism is to jeopardise life of innocent civilians in order to \"publicize/impose\" ideological belief of certian section of society. What is happenig in war on terror is imposition of \"pre-emptive\" ideology of current administration, subjugating international standards which were set in place to maintain peace or what is remained of that in this \"volatile\" world. Did anyone ever liked school bullies?. No one does. In this case America is bullying. Why should western europe like that?

| During the '50s in our land we had a period of time when a similar paranoia swept our land called \"McCarthyism\". I remember it. It's sad our young folk won't learn from previous generations mistakes and must learn from their own experiences. We got through the Nazi threat in WW2 and the cold war without giving up so much of our freedoms as we are giving up, now. I think this generation thinks it is so much smarter than the past that history need not be considered. Our president right or wrong they proclaimed in the 70s, and they're following the same road 30 years later. We'd still be in Vietnam, now, if we continued to follow their line; and could we handle both Vietnam and Iraq, now? Indeed, we ought to ask, can we handle both conflict in Iraq and Iran, as it appears clear (at least to me) we are being sold, now. We have lost so much economically since WW2, trying to control the world; I believe we will soon be bankrupt like the former soviet union. Just like France and Britain declined trying to keep their colonies ... here we go down the same road under a different name.

| I am interested to see this program develop. I already sense there is a tremendous amount of bias already evident and I hope you will work harder to bring both sides of all issues into play. Like the 16 year olds comments \"I saw it destroyed.\" Where are the comments from those grateful to be rid of a brutal dictator? They are there. You just aren't sharing their quotes.

I like that and I will use it in my own work.
Yes, America has an almost messianic political language. That is the history of our forefathers who settled in New England from Old England bringing the 17th century English religious rhetoric with them. It is difficult to understand from the outside, but it is one that is intuitively understood by most Americans. Americans respond to it and it is clearly seen in the Obama campaign. Both sides use it and for us it makes perfect sense.
