The poor Boy had to listen to me bitch and moan through the whole episode (he's not from New York, and also not as easily annoyed as I, nor as into language/dialect—you know I think the latter two are related to being from NYC, honestly). He did admit the accent was atrocious, though.
So now that we have a new sweetie we've made into a Whovian (ha! I hope they have toasters for this cos I'm up to two converts), we've been watching all of Nu!Who again in order. During "Dalek," which as you will recall, involved "Americans," she said "Is that what we sound like to them?" I said, "Oh wait, honey, just wait until season 3—then you'll hear really bad American accents!" I'm shuddering already.
Speaking as a fine, upstanding, and deviant subject of Her Majesty, I have to say I was rather chuffed by that Heinz advert, and its withdrawal from my telly is frightfully shagbastardly annoying.
