G,
Have you heard about Mike Wallace's interview of Ahmadinejad? I think the interview will air on 60 Minutes on Sunday, August 13.
Wallace has been singing the praises of Ahmadinejad, from what I've been reading.

"I find it almost humorous that this man will attempt to paint the picture of his Iran being a peace loving nation of intellectuals and a center of Persian enlightenment as he sends money, weapons, and troops to Lebanon to kill Israelis, actively supports terrorism and terrorist activities, and clamps down on all outside thought and free expression in his own nation."
yet you support your country doing this exact same thing.
why is it okay for the US to do this all over the world but they can't even do this in their own backyard?

Boo Boo Be-Dupe... Hype's on the usual track:
"But America does it, so ignore the other world's wrongs and only attack ours."
Hype:
I'm calling this out as I see it... Wave the B.S. flag high here, because I'm about done with the Arab (and Persian) world trying this "love peace and happiness" bit while supporting violent rogue groups bent on world domination under the flag of Islam.

then you should wave the bs flag at your own country first.
our country has no business ruling the ME or the world. we cause these issues and stoke the flames. we are no different than them. we say they are the evil ones and they say we are the evils ones. you would be wise to dismiss all this rhethoric for what it is.. flame wars.

We didnt cause a millenia of conflict and tribal/ethnic warefare in that region. We didnt cause blatent and open anti-semitism there either.
And note: I'm not advocating a position for offical US policy, I'm just calling it out where I see it. Again, you confuse my ability to have an opinion with official US policy.

how can Arabs be anti-semitism when they themselves are semites?
it is just racism that has developed and fostered by extremists. flame wars need not be turned into real wars.
you don't know your history. my country and the UK have been in the ME since before the 1800's.

To be a Semite, you have to be Jewish, and to be Jewish, you cannot belive in Allah as the Koran perscribes it, and you cannot belive in Mohammad as a prophet.
Jewish is not a race, but a religion. The Muslims in the Arab region and Persian region hate the Jews that live in the same region, and only less violently extend that hatred to non-Arab Jews.
Now, I do know my history there Hype, and the UK was in the Empire building industry, the US was in it domesticallty for the contingent US (currently), but the US never tried to occpy/annex lands outside of it's current holdings for the last 100 years, reguardless of the overwhelming ability to do so.
Think about it, if we wanted to annex Canada and Mexico, plus central America, we could have done it 100x over during the last century, but we didnt, and wont, becaus we dnot want to.
But again, this all has nothing to do with the 1000-2000 year old hatred between the Jews and Christians of the Mid-East versus the Muslims and Bedowens. And dont forget those Perisans, they're still a little pissed at the Greeks, Romans, and Arabs for destroying the great Persian Empire.
You've not put enough historical perspective on that situation if you can actually blame the US for the current climate there. It was worse before our nation even existed.

ohhh.. snap check this out..
In linguistics and ethnology, Semitic (from the Biblical name "Shem") was first used to refer to a language family of largely Middle Eastern origin, now called the Semitic languages. This family includes the ancient and modern forms of Amharic, Arabic, Aramaic, Assyrian, Akkadian, Hebrew, Maltese, Syriac, Tigrinya, etc.
you don't do simple searches before you post do you?

fyi,
"The word "Semitic" is an adjective derived from Shem, one of the three sons of Noah in the Bible (Genesis 5.32, 6.10, 10.21), or more precisely from the Greek form of that name, namely Σημ (Sēm); the noun form referring to a person is Semite. The negative form of the adjective, anti-Semitic, is almost always used as a misnomer to mean "anti-Jewish" specifically."

"Jewish is not a race, but a religion."
In the 1980s, the United States Supreme Court ruled that Jews are a race, at least for purposes of certain anti-discrimination laws.

"The Muslims in the Arab region and Persian region hate the Jews that live in the same region, and only less violently extend that hatred to non-Arab Jews."
A generalization that supports the extremism but doesn't portray the region as it actually is. (which is very diverse.)

Actually, you don't know your history. Our country was founded on land that wasn't ours. That trend continues to this very day. Hawaii and many other islands come to mind. The war of 1812 also comes to mind.
Our empire has been at war since before we were even a united country.
Oh and go research Jefferson's war, 1801.

not sure what you were thinking when you wrote that...
wherever we go we put up a flag just like any other empire. we put that flag up to make claim. we even go so far as to tear down the other guys flag if his was there first.
you really are delusional today. the US didn't partake in empire building activities..? what a joke that statement is.

Are you retarded or just dense? Have you read the Koran? I have, I've read in depth analysis of it. It specifically speaks about the Jews and Christians (by name) and lays down a pattern of behavior a good Muslim should have. Not only that, but you're obviously ignoring the fact that Arab schools teach this hate in their children's classes. Common reference to Jews as "swine" and other subhuman existance is the rule, not the exception.
And the fact that we put up an embassy is not conquring lands. Name one we've annexed as our own and had them subjects under our Constitution, our leadership, and our rule?
Nice try. Jefferson in 1801... lets see, that pretty much falls out of the "last 100 years" part doesnt it?
Jews are a race per that ruling, but it is a religion as spoke of by the Koran and other religious text, not a race. The Arab Muslims hate the religion since most of the blood lines and family tree is common, thus the "race" cannot be a dscriminitory factor.
Quit already, you're dead wrong and you're just littering up with posts trying to suffocate the truth with your crap.

Arabs hate Jews and so it is okay to kill them. They hate us and want to kill us so it is okay for us to hate them and kill them.

Wha??? Hype, I never said that, or anything like that? Why on earth would you say something like that?
Bud, you can disagree with me all you want, but dont put words in my mouth. Especially if you're going to insinuate stuff like that. I'm not like that, and I'm dumbfounded on how you ever thought that of me. But let's clear things up right now: It's NEVER "ok" to kill anyone. There are times when it can be justified or rationalized, and there are times when it can be excused, but the fact remains that it is never ok, never a good thing, and never something to be proud of, I dont care who it is.
