g- i can't help but wonder why you are so concerned with the democrat party. not that it isn't a valid observation- i am simply curious. you don't strike me as belonging. i could be stereotyping here- perhaps you do belong.

I used to vote Democrat, heck, I voted for Clinton the first and second time... but then I switched over when Gore ran, and of course I wouldnt vote for Kerry... but I see many of the problems in our nation stemming from the real lack of viable alternatives to plans that are filled with potholes and pork.
We need a strong mainstream alternative to what the current Republicans are dishing out if we can ever hope to get back to a system where Captial Hill works for us, not around us.

footnote:
The current crop of Dem leaders are good at only 2 things: Bashing everying bush, and sidestepping anyting near commitment or planning.
I cannot vote for that, ANY plan is better than no plan, and that's what we've got with the Dems. They want to just go off a cliff of protest, and could care less where they land.

At the same time the American people are saying that it's the Democrats they trust in every issue of the day. It's the President that Americans have so little trust for. It's the Republican leadership in the Congress that Americans dislike even more than the President.
Again, neither party is acceptable to the American people. With no good alternative, they will simply vote for a change.
I predict that Democratic victories will give them a majority in the Congress by 2008 and a President in 2008.
Republicans have no one but themselves to blame for not taking the opportunity, and presenting decent leadership.

the rank and file dems are starting to demand more from their reps- hence the lieberman loss. we are seeing that all over the country in primaries. i think that the ones at the top have their ears open- and at the very least are worried. i know that the repubs on hate radio are.

Wait betmo and Time:
You're ignoring the fact that Lieberman lost the primary (kicked out by Dem leadership), but he may likely win the election (has more of the popular vote).
How does this work with your predictions and theories? I think the "anger" thing is being greatly over exagerated, and Time, you're flat wrong about them trusting Dems.
The DNC has tried to push this culture of corruption thing, but America isnt buying it because they think that ALL of Washington is in the corruption ring, not just Repubs.
America distrust both parties equally.

You may think it is wrong ideologically, but that's what the polls have been saying for over 6 months. That Americans trust the Dems. over the Reps. on every issue, including military defense. Bush has blown it with the American people. And as I've said a couple of times before the public is sick of BOTH sides, but with no viable alternative, they will simply vote for a change. They will vote Democratic, espically for President in 08'.

Time, I disagree, and it's not ideological, because I'm not a party guy. I think that the "polls" that are consistantly quoted saying people will vote Dem are biased in general... but we only have about 2 months to wait and see who's right.
