I have a story about my creative learning process, if you're interested:
I was searching and reading some blogs on my google reader thing, and was focusing on developmental disabilities (something I am very interested in if you don't know me). I came across one by a caregiver who was having trouble finding activities to go to with the individual she was working with. This was a familiar problem to me, but I didn't think much of it at the time.
Today after church, I felt challenged to slow down and stop thinking about the clock. I took off my watch and turned off the radio coming home. I was trying to keep my mind open to what God wanted to tell me. For some reason, that blog came to my mind again. I connected it with an old sermon of Pastor Edgar's where he was talking about "see a need, fill a need." 'I wonder,' I thought 'how I can fill this need.'
Soon my mind was racing with ideas about a website for caregivers with all kinds of features: A community calendar with as many free and inexpensive activities as I can find; ideas for activities when community ones aren't available; a networking service so caregivers and the individuals they serve can meet up and do activities together... I could go on and on. The ideas are many, and they keep coming.
Then I started to realize that the judge was already hard at work telling me to keep it practical. I thought 'If money/time/practicality were no object how would I make this even better??' That's when it came to me: A hub site that would direct toward local sites. Caregivers could log on to the website, where they would see a map. They would click on their area and it would direct them to sites with their LOCAL site. Then I could serve the whole US with this site, not just people in one city.
The more I thought about it, the more I thought "I can do this... I WILL do this." I plan to start a local site when I move to Wheaton, IL in August, and try to grow it from there. This class has really helped me to expand my thinking and think outside the box!

How Awesome is that!!! How would you like to take 5 minutes on a Wednesday and see what other ideas we could get generated from everyone?
