Hi Adrian,
I recently become mom second time. My daughter is 3 months old I am Breast Feeding her as well as giving her bottle .Just before getting pregnant I got diagnose with Hypothyroidism and now I take Synthyroid. Luckily I didn't gain much in pregnancy I only gain 12 lbs but i was little heavy I was 141 and at my 9th month i was 153 that was also b/c I got gestational diabetes. now I am 144. I am 5'3 and 1/2 in height and just turn 28 yrs last month. I want to be 120 lbs by next summer and I need your help. I have a treadmill at home. I do what ever I can on it but its hard with Little girl . Feel like crying now. I need to know how much I should workout to loose this 24 lbs, and how long will it take me to be at my ideal weight which I haven't seen since last 12 yrs. Hope you will reply -Tahira

Yoga shouldn't bulk you up but YOGA is not intense enough to help you lose weight since...
#1 - you already look good and...
#2 - People who are already lean and don't have much weight to lose need to do intense exercises like intervals to lose weight so...
Doing something intense like intervals 3-to-4 times a week while eating only 1100-to-1400 calories a day should help you lose 10 pounds by/or way before may and also...
Make sure 30% OR MORE of your calories come from protein to speed up fat loss - Look at fast weight loss tip #7 here

It really all depends on how much you weigh now but YES...
It's a GOOD chance you can lose 10 pounds in 5+ months just by eating sensibly and cutting out soda, alcohol and junk food

i'm getting married in may and i want to lose about 10 pounds prior to the date. i know that for most woman exercise is key to losing the weight but i bulk up very quickly and i don't want this, i want to be thin. even brisk walking makes my legs bulk up. is just eating sensibly and cutting out soda, alcohol and junk food enough to lose the weight in 5 months?

To lose your last 10 ten pounds at your height & weight - you need to be eating about 1100-to-1300 calories anyway - Just put in your weight on my last 10 pound calculator here but...
If you're eating 900-to-1000 calories plus the fact that you aren't getting hungry - I wouldn't worry too much about starvation mode and to help clear your mind some more...
If your diet is mainly fruits, veggies, and proteins - you reallydon't have to worry about counting calories to lose weight anyway

Thanks. That's a relief, walking is kinda inconvienet. (it's always cold). : I think I'll take short walks so I can get some fresh air.
Oh, yes. An important question here. I've mixed answers of the '1200 calorie a day' recconmendation. Usually, since I eat fruits, vegitables, and some sort of protein(and I'm usually stuffed afterward), whenever I add it up, it's not 1200 calories (based on internet values found). Will my body go into 'starvation mode' and start storing fat? (some peole say since they are good calories and they give what your body needs, others say yes because I'm not getting enough calories). Should I eat more even when I'm not hungry to get it to 1200 (I usually eat 900-1000)?

For you - the walking would be safe but I doubt if you'll be getting any extra fat loss benefits from it because your body is probably used to walking and anyways...
You need shorter much more intense workouts that last only 15-to-45 min to really lose your last 10 pounds so basically...
the walking in your case may be a waste of time for fat loss

I have an exercising question. On Mondays and Wesnesday, I usually walk 4 miles (it takes an hour, so at 4 MPH)and on Saturday I walk six miles. Would it be "safe" (i can't find the proper word) to do that and the fat loss exercise #1 listed here? Or would I be over working my body?

The good news is that you have the time & Patience to reach your goals so the main thing you can do is...
Stay on this advanced fat loss plan here and keep asking me questions along the way if you need more help.
Your body fat % can go down in three ways...
1. lose fat which is what the fat loss plan will do or...
2. gain muscle but since you're a girl I'm guessing you don't want to gain TOO MUCH muscle - so that's not an option or...
3. Do 1 & 2 at same time and you can also do that with the fat loss plan I gave you.
Green tea is GREAT for fat burning so I recommend it and as i said...
DO NOT hesitate to ask me more questions - idiotic or not - as long as they are questions pertaining to helping you look better naked - ask away!

I want to lose inches but is that the same as losing weight? Since summer, I've went from a size 8 to a size 5-6 (yay :D) by losing 10 pounds. But that doesn't make since to me since I highly doubt 10 pounds equals 2 jean sizes.
How would I go about losing inches? I'm not overweight (5'3, 130 (yes, i know it's "ideal" for my height but i don't feel that it is. i understand it'll be harder and take longer) pounds, female, 15 [is that young to lose weight?]) but I still have larger-than-normal thighs and a pouch of fat on my stomach (though it's not a HUGE problem, i can live with it). Could you suggest exercises that would help tone the thighs and help decrease my body fat percentage? When I should exercise? Would green tea aide me in my quest for weight loss (even a little)?
Any suggestions would be great. I'd like to lose the weight by summer (going to france :D), so i have about six months, so i'm not in a hurry (i don't want the weight to come back).

Can you do weight loss intervals that don't involve squats?
Following the diet plan here is all you need and to speed up your weight loss a bit - just make sure you eat 150-to-200grams or protein a day which means 600-to-800 of your 1208-t0-1466 calories will be protein and...

Hi! I'm 15,female,5'6, and 138 pounds.
I used to be extremely active because of cheerleading but I had to quit the begining of summer. I weighed 126 and now I weigh 138 
I still have alot of muscle in my thighs but I gained so much weight in my belly and in my thighs.
So me and my dad are having a contest who could loose more weight by Jan. 1, 2009.
I have bad knee's and a bad back (thanks to cheerleading) so squats are painful. I don't know what to do! Could you PLEASE help me out??

Another thing then, I usually play full court basketball for about an hour or run 20 min (about 2.5 miles) on a treadmill before my work out. Is this "sissy-cardio" or ok? Lastly for trying to get cut going with your last response is Muscle Milk a good idea... just chicken for protein, or another supplement? Thanks again...

To get toned and cut without adding too much bulky muscle...
You basically need to do body sculpting exercises using moderate weights for 8-to-12 reps while continuing to do whatever you did to lose 20 pounds but basically...
To get cut - you need to lower your body fat percentage and you do that building more muscle while losing fat so you should also look at how to build muscle while losing fat

At first... just lay off the extra toning exercises because the fast weight loss workouts will help you tone as you lose weight and then later on...

as i had told you in my last post,i really want to get rid of my sagging calves,i havent been able to wear a decent skirt for a long time now,i hope u have some special exercises which target the calves, the best ones would be which i can carry around at home.id b grateful to you if u could tell me some so that i lose a lot of weight off my calves in around 3 weeks.i cycle on a stationary bike for 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening.anything that could boost up the loss would b very helpful

Make sure you do this plan here to lose weight in 3 weeks before your wedding and I advise you to do more higher intensity cardio workouts similar to weight loss workout plan here and you can do weight training but don't focus TOO much on it and I would only do weight training 1-2x a week with light weights

A small snack like a banana may help but the fast weight loss workout is an advanced (intense) workout and you'll have to keep doing it (or build uP) until you get the stamina to complete the workout and also...
Don't push your self TOO hard at first and remember the key thing is that you finish the workout so if you have to stop and take little breaks then that's fine

I'm a 5 5' female and have lost about 20 pounds already (current 146) through exercise and healthy eating. I'm first week into my 'lose 10 pounds in 40 days regime.' When I tried to do the workout #1 in the morning and almost fainted. Would you recommend eating a small snack like banana before the workout? Or how about working out around 11AM -- it's my lunch break?
Moreover, how would you rate elliptical training for intervals? Its worked out well in the past.

Since Feb 2008 I have lost a lot of weight (about 35+ punds) and I am 25 and currently 5'2 and weigh about 102 lbs. even with my weight at 102lbs and working out 3 to 4 days a week I still have fat in certain areas like my stomach, hips and thighs. I have tried eating tuna, salads and all fresh fruits and veggies but it seems like the weight comes off every place but where I need it to. Is there anything I can do with exercise or maybe eating different to get those stubborn areas? I have alot of stress and i know that makes things even more difficult in my life but I want to drop around 5 not 10 lbs. I am having problems with those last 5 though. Any suggestions? I reviewed the calc and it said eat about 1000 calories a day..... I need help

What are you doing differently if anything once you get down to 141?
Are you gaining water weight after you get down to 141? - how quickly do you gain the weight back after you hit 141?
Take a look at "10 ways to quickly break out of a weight loss plateau" to see if there's anything else you could be doing wrong

Hey i am 5foot 10 and weigh 140 lbs now i look okay maybe even skinny with a shirt on but really i need to lose probably 5-10 pounds and replace with muscle. If you have a little bit of fat left - you don't need to lose 30 pounds of weight
You just need to lose about 5-to-15 pounds of FAT to get your abs to show and This plan here is the best plan you can use to do that but... Also look at "To lose belly fat fast & Get abs at the same time..."

I think you really want to burn fat and gain muscle (RIGHT?) becasue at...
5'8" 140 LBS you're at an ideal weight already so trying to lose weight is going to be harder well, not harder it's just going to take longer and you'll need to be patient - Look at this to see why
lifting weights will help you burn FAT and gain muscle so when you hop on a weight scale - it'll say you gained weight but you'll look lighter because of the muscle you gained
Go here to tone up your back but overall...
In my opinion - You should go here to see how to burn fat & build muscle but...
You can still lose weight if you want to... It's just going to take longer than you think

my workout plan consists of being on the elliptical for 30 minutes a day which burns ova 300 calories and doing circuit traning each day at the gym. i take in 320 calories a meal, so its five meals a day. and each meal as long as it totals to 320 thats what i eat, so its not directly diet food i eat, i just look at the calories in the food i eat. ......... and what type of workouts would help me NOT to have a box shape.

hi, I'm 5'4 and i weigh 245 lbs. i went on a diet wherein i take in 1600 calories a day and i worked out everyday at my gym. but at the end of the week i only lost .6lbs...thats what my scale said and i lost 3 inches on my chest. i need helpp and advise on what i'm doing wrong. should i lower my calorie intake more? and what type of exercises can i do each day at the gym to make my waist go in smaller. i'm a 45-47-50 and would like to be 36-32-40. please help.

#1. Any weight loss plan will burn total overall body fat and if your thighs have a layer of fat then... YES - your thighs will get slimmer by working out & dieting
#2. Basically the same answer as #1 - your love handles are fat that will decrease as you lose weight and Do these love handle exercises to help firm up your waist area
#3. Yes - 1 scoop will work but you don't have to use protein shakes -Read #2 here again - you can simply use another 100 calorie source of protein

Im 15, 5'2 and weigh 150 pounds.
Im going to try this workout plan and the "lose 20 pounds in 3-4 weeks" weightloss plan, for I am looking to lose quite a bit of weight before school starts about a month and a half from now.
I have some questions....
1. My thighs are huge(mostly fat), even the part above my knee is quite big.. I am looking to lose most or ALL of the fat from my thighs. Will this workout help me to lose weight in my thighs and make them slimmer? or will I have to do another workout plan/ exercise to make them slim?
2. I have the same problem with my "love handles", there huge! Again, will this workout plan help me to lose most or ALL of that fat? or will I have to do another workout?
3. I don't have whey or soy protein.. But I do have another weightloss control powder.. The thing is.. It says to put 2 scoops in a cup of water but the 2 scoops are OVER 200 calories! What should I do? Could I maybe just use one scoop instead?

NO and double NO if you're trying to lose your last 10 pounds.
Replace your coffee with green tea instead to still get the caffeine you need but also get some extra fat burning as well

On M, W, & F mornings - do Fast weight loss workout #1 or #2 (your choice) and just alternate doing them.
On M, W, 7 F evenings - you do a weight loss interval, tae-bo or you can do a low intensity workout like walking for 45min.
For tues, thurs, and weekends... You REST & DO NOTHING for 3 of those 4 days and ONE of those days any day you choose) - you'll do a morning and evening light 45 minute cardio workout

Are we supposed to do all of these things all the time or spread them out. As in for the first weeks of fast weight loss workout 1 and 2 then do you we go to doing workouts in the evening or do we do them together? Then on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends do we do those alone and stop doing the others or continue both... please clear things up for me?!

If you want to workout everyday... I suggest you do this workout plan here becasue... trying to do fast weight loss workouts #1 & #2 everyday may be too much for you and if do decide not to take my advice on this I urge you to at least do fast weight loss workouts #1 and/or #2 only 3x a week for your first 3 weeks and build up to everyday.
also read why it's harder to lose your last 10 pounds and it's going take a while for you to lose 20 pounds because you already look good and because you're not overweight and since you don't have much weight to lose - you're going to lose your last 20 pounds but it's going to be at a slow rate.

If your following my lose 20 pounds plan here then YES... if your stuffed after eating veggies and protein - then you don't have to eat anything - you're only required to eat a 0-to-300 calorie meal after the veggies and protein

hi,its me again..i am 5'4" tall and weigh 130 lbs.i plan to workout 6 days a week, ur fast weightloss workout #1 on monday,wednesday and friday (minus the pushups and i have replaced dumbbells with water bottles,each weighing about 2 lbs)and your workout #2 on the remaining 3 days.can u pls tell me if this is healthy??i'm not on a diet,though i have reduced my intake of sugar and oily food.i have 3 medium meals a day and a light snack.i also have green tea daily.please tell me approximately how long will it take for me to lose 20 lbs.

22% is GREAT considering the fact that anything over 35% is considered obese for women and YES...
It is better in my opinion to use the mirror and/or bodyfat scale to judge your apperance rather than numbers on a scale.
I weight 230 pounds but I look like I weight 190 pounds because of my lower bodyfat percentage

I appreciate you taking time to respond.
It seems like I do need to change my exercise routine. That's the only thing that's kind of been similar other than that I've been on a 1200 calories a day plan for the past week and a half. It included whey proten shake, egg whits, chicken/fish, non-fat yogurt, fruits and veggies and of course lots of water.
My body fat percentage right now is 22% and when I started working out 3 months ago it was 28%. I think this is a big change. I've lost inches all over but i want to see the scale go down a bit too. Maybe i'm asking too much.

The first thing I'm going to tell you is that you probably need to change up your exercise routine by at least trying to do the workout routine on this page or if you can - talk to your personal trainer to see if he/she can give you something new to do to lose weight because by doing the same weight loss workout - your body will get used to it and stop burning that many calories causing you not to lose that much weight and...
The second thing I'm going to tell you is to Read how to break out of a weight loss plateau but the main things you need to check are...
How many total calories are you eating everyday because if you're eating too much -you're not gonna to lose weight anyway and you need to check your bodyfat% to see how lean you are because leaner people have a harder time losing weight and...
I suspect you are lean from what you told me in your question so please also read why it's harder to lose your last 10 pounds

I'm 5'1" 128 lb I've been trying to reach my goal which is 115 for the past three months. I train with my personal trainer 3 times a week I do cardio 3-4 times a week and i do yoga 3 times a week. It'll probably be better for you to do body sculpting exercises to shape and firm up your body to make yourself look 10 pounds lighter because at your weight - I don't think there's not much more weight you can lose

If your goal is to lose inches and just firm up then yes Do this fast weight loss workout at anytime during the day and I think you're more concerned with FAT LOSS rather than fat loss and the "to lose last 10 pounds" will help you burn fat & lose inches

I want to lose a lot of weight within 3 weeks. Rather than weigt loss, I would prefer at least having a slimmer waist line - at least minus 3 inches (current waist measurment is 35" - too much). and also getting rid of these stupid love handles! Im 5'3 & weigh 132 pounds. How much can I lose in three weeks on body rather than weight? I have started brisk walking as part of my excercise for one hour and 30 minutes every day every morning. I would like to continue that but want to know whether I can do your fast weight loss workout in the evenings instead of mornings, because it will fit my schedule better like that since I go walking with friends in the morning.

I've been trying to lose 10-12 pounds for 2 years. I see your suggestion to eat 6 meals/day @200-300 calories each.
Do you have a sample of a full day menu. I'm just not sure how to differentiate the amount of calories contained per meal.
p.s. The protein seems limited. Is it ok to eat protein slices of clean natural chicken or turkey slices as well?

Fat burners (Green tea) are only neccesary for people who are not overweight who are trying to lose extra pounds and you need every little extra edge you can get to safelty lose weight
