I used to be a competitive swimmer, training 7+ times/week for 2 hours, plus weight training on top of that. I quit about 2 weeks ago because I'm in university and want to have a life outside of the pool. However I'm worried that since my body's used to working out soooo often, if I just work out 3 or 4 times a week I'll gain weight quickly regardless. I'm used to being able to eat whatever I want so it's very hard for me to cut out everything bad (like chocolate =)..), what would you recommend? Thanks

Well I'm 5'10 and a half (180cm or so) and I am 13.5 stone (89kg, 189 pounds) I'm not obese but I'm definitely overweight but don't look it in clothes and I must work on it. Ok, so you've redirected me to here so I'm thinking up of a diet that SEEMS pretty good, but I am not sure.
Breakfast- Special K Cinnamon Pecan Cereal with homemade fresh apple smoothie(juiced at home and blended only with yogurt)
Lunch- Chicken Caesar Sandwich(Healthy Italian Bread that I found, I think it's 20 calories for 1 slice or 20 calores for 2 slices not sure, white chicken, and low fat caesar dressing or condiment etc.) with water and an apple.
Dinner- not sure what to eat, any ideas? I'll eat anything that has nothing to do with ANY vegetables except for peas , I have my vitamins for that, doctor gave em to me.

Ok so, that's what I'm THINKING of eating but, if you must modify it or substitue etc. go ahead but for no vegetables, I have vitamins lol ok well thx for all the help, write back soon! And sorry it's long!

If you ever hit a plateau - look at how to break out of a weight loss plateau and...

For your abs & love handles - I would limit it to 2-to-3 times a week but try to do all ab & love handles on same day and...

Do arms & chest on same day and do All leg stuff like thigh & butt on same day but overall...

You plan is fine as it is - I'm just trying to find a way to some time and I wish you luck (I'll know you'll get the body you'll want) and...

I think this is an excellent site. I have tried to build a workout routine based on the videos and exercises that you have listed here. I am unable to workout first thing in the morning because I have to get my children ready to leave the house at 5:30a. Waking up any earlier is not an option. In your case if you're only 120 pounds chances are that you're not overweight and very lean already so the best thing you can do to reduce those areas of the body is to do body sculpting exercises for your trouble spots using lighter weights for 8-to-12 reps

Can you talk about starvation mode? I think this is confusing to some. I eat between 1000-1200 calories a day and burn about 600-800 calories a day through exercise. I weigh 234lbs and the weight is just sitting there for two weeks now but I have lost inches.

I love curves and am striving for a tone body with curves. I know I might have to do one thing at a time to get to this goal.

Well anyways...Do you think the following plan is good enough for me to lose fat (20 pounds by the end of the year)? I want to find a routine that I can do for a month straight so I can make exercise a habit, then I was going to do other hardcore stuff after that.

Couch to 5k (running 3x a week)

Your Interval training workout 2-3x a week(the squatting with the weights thing followed by some interval training)

Push ups (I'm not good at these so i'm doing a challenge so I can get better.

Walking 5x's a week 30-60 mins.

And Yoga. I tend to have a good night sleep when I do this before bed.

Yes - Morning workouts are better - Read why but whether you burn 3 times more calories is debatable and I doubt you'd burn 3000 calories doing tae-bo no matter what time you train


if you exercise first thing in the morning while your stomach is empty, do you really burn 3 times the calories? if it's true then 2 hours of taebo can reach 3000 calories, and that is almost a pound.. 2hours 1 pound? :D

Since you've been doing this for 2 weeks... Do you notice you look or feel any better regardless of what the scale says? - You could be getter leaner by adding some muscle that makes you look slimmer but this won't show up on a weight scale but...

let me guess you have been eating alot because its hard for you to not eat junk same with me and now that i look on tv and i see miley cyrus and see how she has suck a great body and not to thin makes me want to go for and hour jog come home and take a shower and eaet a salad insead of a pizza for dinner thanks so much and all who read this dont be upset of what im saying look in the mirror like i did and do something about it you think loosing weight is hard but when you stick to it and a week later you weight in and theres a 6 pound difference or even more you will thank me and the creator of this site so have fun loosing weight like i will soon have a grat day!,

hi Adrian.I weight 345lbs and I'm 5'1',I'm trying to see if I could loose weight on my on without having gastric bypass surgery.I've started having an glass of EAS soy protein mix with skim milk,1 can of v-8 juice(5.5oz,hot'n'spicey),a fruit containing vitamin c(sometimes in the can)but not drinking the juice,in the morning.For lunch a low carb wrap and fruit, and a sensible dinner and always plenty of water after and between meals 30 min.of cardio daily.Is this a good plan for me or do I need to make some changes to see results.

You will lose weight at a slower rate as you get skinnier so it's going take patience and determination on your part to reach your goal of being just 104 pounds and by the way...

You weight is fine, you're not overweight and you already look good but if you insist on losing more weight...

You are doing nothing wrong and losing 4 pounds in 2 weeks at your weight & height is good because since you're not that overweight...

Your weight loss pace is going to be slower than a overweight persons and...

You should just keep doing what're doing to lose 1-2 pounds a week and if you ever get stuck - Read 10 ways to quickly break out of a weight loss plateau or contact me but in closing...

You should only expect a 1-2 pound weight loss per week for your weight & height

I posted a question earlier but it seems to have disappeared.

I love your site and have found so much info here over the past couple of days. I’m addicted to it!

Anyway, I’m 25, 5’ 5” weigh 139lbs but feel very overweight because I have 30% body fat. I’m slim on top but I’ve a lot of fat on my stomach and hips.

For the past two weeks I have been sticking to a diet of 1200 – 1400 cals a day consisting of all fresh unprocessed food and I’ve also been increasing my protein intake and cut out coffee and alcohol. Along with this I’ve been doing at least an hour of cardio a day plus circuit training every day. Just recently I’ve added some of your toning exercises for the different areas of my body.

I’ve only lost 4lbs in the past two weeks and I feel like I should be losing a lot more for the effort I’m putting in. Am I doing something wrong? I want to get down to 119lb and reduce my body fat by September.

I stumbled onto your site, very informative by the way. Loads of helpful information. My dilemna is this I think I have put my body in starvation mode for the past 2 years.

I changed gym in June 06, they told no weight training focus on cardio only. In 2 years time, I've gained 33 pounds, I've gone from 205 to 238. No matter how much cardio, drink my water, or watch my calories I have not been able to lose weight.

My daily intake is between 1300 and 1800 based on your site I'm classified as VERY ACTIVE and should be eating much more please confirm. I am 45 years old, 5 feet tall.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated !!!
