Thank you for responding and so soon at that! I have been trying really hard to get it together since I am over 35 now!!! I have been doing cardio 4-5 days a week and just recently started adding weight training. So I will start your workout plan on Monday to lose these last 20 lbs in 3-4 weeks...The 4th of July is my new goal. Thanks again. Great site with the best information that I have been able to find. |

I recently losted 16 lbs by weight watchers and exercising. I have been trying to do this on my own and keep getting conflicting info. I want to lose 20 lbs fast because I want to get my body in shape to have a baby. I now weigh 178 lbs. I also want to tone up more than anything while losing weight. Most of my weight is in my middle section from my last child...Help!!! Do I need to lift heavier at the gym with machines or can I get quicker results at home with lighter weights and more repetition? |

Never use 5 pounders. It will take you all day to fatigue your muscles that way. You won't bulk up with heavy weights (unless you take steroids). The goal is to get your muscles to the point where they cannot do even one more repetition. You should get to this point in 8-10 reps. I never really lift and I started at 10 lbs for my arms. 15 lbs for your biceps is a great, challenging weight. Rock on with your muscular self! |
