How many sets and reps, amount of weight and the exercises you do to tone up your arms so I can prescribe something else to make you arms look better

Hey there, I commented several posts back when I was 128lbs. I am now 118lbs and my underarms are still a bit flappy. I have been doing toning with 15lbs weights but I've added the 'chair' lift one about a week ago. Is there any possibility that my underarm won't tone all the way? I'm 46 years old...am I too late?

Can I do the arm excersises during pregnancy..I'm 7 months preggy..Started the pregnancy overweight, but have not gained more than reccomended by my doctor, so hopefully it wont be too hard to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (230lbs) I'm about 242 now, and the extra weight/fluid has had a tole on my knees (hurts to stand up from sitting, hurts to sit down)I definately need to work n loosing not only the "baby" fat after pregnancy, but lots more than that...anyways, I know there's not much I can do now (as in I shouldnt be trying to lose weight now) but I hate my arms, they are getting bad (to the point I'm afraid I will have excess skin when I lose weight)and would like to start toning them-which I think would help me with carrying the baby in a car seat etc. I'm very out of shape. So sad, but want to change for my baby's sake..and for my poor husband- he deserves better!

Adrian, I am so sorry to disturb you so much it's just that i am trying to get rid of my slim and shapeless figure i gained while swimming and i am trying to get a Beyonce body ,you know, the curvy body that is muscular but feminine. Will this arm exercise get me those natural looking toned arms if i use lighter weights? And also what other exercises should i do to complete my Beyonce look from head to toe?

Only diet and exercise will get rid of any arm flab but...
If you do this arm workout it will firm up and tone up arms helping you build a little bit of muscle which will make your arms look fitter and slimmer but...
You need to burn off arm flab to really see results

I am trying to tone the backs of my arms and "back fat" area. Will my arms just get bigger from muscle if i concentrate on them, or will they slim down before getting bigger? I just want them to be lean to match the rest of my body!

Hi there!,
YES - you are correct - as you lose weight... your body will become less flabby overall but of course...
YOu or I can't predict where on your body you'll get less flabby but I'm sure you'll see a difference in your arms once you get to 122 pounds

I am slowly losing weight (about 1 lb every week and a half) eating 1400-1500 calories daily and training for a half marathon. I am at 128 lbs with a goal of 122...then I'll see what my 'fat stores' look like and reassess. Is it correct to assume that when I am at my ideal weight, the underside of my arms will no longer have those terrible flaps? I am currently following a toning regime of weight reps for this and other areas.

Katy,
what kind of results are you looking for?
It seems to me that your arms are getting firmer from what you said so the good news is that the exercises are working in that respect but...
Don't expect these exercises to get rid of arm flab all by itself because...
You need both diet & exercise (see NowLoss.com) to burn off arm flab or any body flab.

Nicole,
Go here and read how to break out of weight loss plateau to troubleshoot your weight loss problems but...
The main thing that jumps out at me is the fast you've only been eating 1200 calories a day for a long time -it's nothing wrong with that it's just that after a long time of eating a lower amount of calories your body's metabolism gets smart and slows down to acomondate for the low amount of calories you eat so in your case...
Eating low calories isn't going to help you lose weight as fast or not at all so what you need to do is focus more on exercising smarter by doing more intense exercises for shorter amounts of time so you need to do more intervals or or fast weight loss workouts like this and...
You may want to eat up to 1500 calories for about 10 days to train your bodies metabolism to burn more calories and you also should try eating differnet types of healhty foods to lose weight but read "how to break out of weight loss plateau" first to see if that helps and...
if none of that works - contact me again and I'll see what i can do to help you get back on track again losing weight

I started at 291 lbs at 5'3 and am at 211 lbs currently. By eating healthy foods, 1200 cals/36 g fat a day, and frequently eating.... I have lost 80 lbs since Oct 07. My problem is that my weight has not budged for over 2mths now! I work out 3-4 per week. I run on the crossramp OR Eliptical about 30 min w/154 heart rate average. And I do strength training exercises w/weights and a yoga ball afterwards for about 20 min. I heard by changing your routine and cutting back on the exercise would help, but I have done that and seen no improvement. I used to workout 4-6 times a week and the treadmill or bycicle as well. How can I change my diet or exercise routine according to your videos in order to see results again? I am losing steam.
Nicole
P.S. How can I incorporate the tricep exercises and various crunches into my routine without overdoing it. I have a lot of loose skin and I really want to target my stomach and arms. I do quite a bit in my strength training exercises, but see little results.

There's NO EXACT weight you or anyone else should start with - you just need a weight based on your fitness level that's going to challange you so basically...
Pick a weigh that's not real heavy and please... DONT pick a real light weight and generally...

Seeing results mainly depends on your fitness level (and other factors) but generally... I would expect to see your arms toning up after the 3rd-to-5th workout but remember - the key ingreadietn to truly removing arm flab and the flab/fat from all over your body is a good diet &/or exercise program
which can be found here for free at NowLoss.com

I'm not a doctor nor have i heard of pantrapezial arthritis but what I can recommend for you to tighten up your forearms is to hold onto something heavy (without dropping it) for at least 30 seconds or more - this'll help tone up your forearms or You can do wrist roller exercises but I have no idea if you'll be able to do those things with pantrapezial arthritis

Hi there,
At last no frills information and videos for the hardest part of the body to get looking good.... the arms.I have always wanted arms like Angela Basset (Tina Turner) or Linda Hamilton (Terminator II). Is there and entire program for this. One I can do 3 times per week. Also how long should my weights session be? Is 3 times per week enough or should it be 4 times plus 4 times per week cardio.
