lost,

How tall are you and have you been doing the same workout for a while?

Go here for more ways to speed up weight loss

i weighed 141 in december. now after 4 months of vigorously working out sometimes to the tune of 800 cals per day, and eating about 1700 cals i weigh 147. My question is where does all this excess energy and should be weight loss go, is it just not happening bc my metabolism is nothing-just shot? what do i do to break this metabolic famine i've created?

SherriFrank07,

This is the best plan for your weight & height

My name is Sherri and I am 22 years old. About 2 years ago I was happy with my weight, I was probably between 130-135 and I was dancing every single weekend going out and lost weight without even trying, and I wasn't on any special diet either, I ate whatever I wanted. I got down to 120 pounds and I looked my best ever. Now that my boyfriend and I have started dating for two years I am now at 140, but I started gaining it back before I met him. I can tell in pictures in my face I have gained weight and I hate it. I know I am not fat but I would like to get back to 120 and stay that way. Could you give me any advice on workouts and diets for my weight and height. I am 140 and 5'4. I have a membership at the gym but I am not ever sure what to do when I go in there. Thank you!

val,

Read that part again because eating under 1200 calories was just an example of "WHY" not to eat low calories so... Read why VLCD do not work

you said when you get to 120, you have to eat 500-800 to keep losing, so one should start exercising to continue losing, but wouldn't me eating 700 calories without exercising be the same as me eating 1100 calories and running to burn off 400 calories every day??? Thank you!!

r.slik86,

In the short term - lifting weights will make you gain muscle weight (which is good) and you may look bigger but in the long run...

The muscle you gain will help increase your metabolism and it'll help you maintain your weight easier and...

hi my name is rob and let me tell you i have succesfully lost 45 pounds over the course of 4 months. my weight was literally 245 pounds and currently , i weigh in around 198-200pds. my goal is to weigh in at 185 but im not lookin pass the process of hitting 190pds(this is where i need to drop the 10) and when i reach that goal, i can look foward to dropping the other 5 with confidence. During the whole process all i did was cardio inside the gym. for some reason, my results had slown down because i think i reached what you call a plateau phase. i decided to change my work out into doing cardio outdoors and then i saw tremendous results. all i wanna do now is drop 15 more but i need to lose the first 10. I thought of changing my work out by lifting weights because i barely lifted throughout the process. will this new excercise of lifting weights help me lose the 10.lbs i wanna lift weights but im scarred of getting big or even appearing a bit larger , what should i do ?
