You will burn a LOT of calories doing that but you'll burn yourself out doing it 5 times a week right out of the gate so start off with 3-to-4 times a week and do light cardio on the other days

Hi i am 5 ft 4 currently 205 lbs and i want to get down to 145 by March 2010. Do you have anymore diet plans that I can use that doesn't involve counting calories? I remember a fruit/veggie and protein drink before every meal plan but, I can't find that one.

I did that plan for two weeks once and my hair grew like crazy and I was very energized. I believe I lost some weight too, but I didn't keep track of that.

Also, I can't afford a bunch of fruits at the moment so do you think Bolthouse Green Smoothie drink and my protein before each meal can be a good subsuitute until I can afford it?

How many total calories are you supposed to eat in each meal or for the whole day?

If you are going over your recommenend amount of calories per meal by drinking 2 glasses of milk then you need to cut back


I have run into a problem with my diet.

I recently realized that I am consuming this when drinking 2 Glasses of Milk:

540 Calories, 180 from Fat, 44 grams of Protein, 44 grams of Sugar, no sure how much Carbs.

However, I find the Milk useful in getting in my calories for the day.

What should I do so the Milk wont affect my weight loss?

I want to continue drinking it. Please help.

You're losing weight so You have nothing to worry about.

If you're losing weight just fine with 1600+ calories - stick with that and at your weight...

you would lose weight eating 2000+ calories a day also but just remember this...

As you lose weight - you'll have to eat less or exercise more intensly to keep losing weight but dont worry about that right now and...

I am following the diet and excersize advice on the website just wanted to check if I'm on the right track.

Before Gym:1.5 spoon protein shake mixed with water + Fat burner

Breakfast:1 Banana or Apple or Papaya + 1 bowl Oats with milk

Midday:1 apple or banana

Lunch:1.5 spoon protein shake with water + 1 big bowl green salad(no dressing)+ small bowl Indian style vegetable or meat+2 whole wheat chappati.

Early Evening: Handful of unsalted almonds & Cashew nuts + 1.5 spoon shake with water + fat burner

Dinner:1 fruit + salad

Dont Touch any SODA's at all.Also taking Multivitamin and Omega 3 tablets

Workout 5 days a week.

Monday/Wednesday/Friday morning - 1 hr weight training

Monday/Wednesday/Friday evening - 1hr brisk walk on the treadmill.

Tuesday evening - 1 Hr Combat class(High Intensity)

I am so fascinated by this site and am starting to follow the advice it gives me, but I am getting so confused!
I currently weight 236lbs at about 5'6".
I would like to lose 50lbs by March, and ultimately about 100lbs.
Is it okay to start off the weight loss by using the lose 20 in 3-4 weeks, and then switching to the lose 50 in 5-8 months?
The difficulty I have with losing weight are all of the numbers! I was looking to eat more protein (the calculator said 32g each meal) but it boggles my mind! What can I eat every meal to get to 32g of protein?

For your weight and activity level that is an okay amount for you to lose weight and bear in mind...

That is just an estimate (a good estimate) but not 100% exact so...

If you're not losing at least 1-to-3 pounds a week then chop off about 100-to-250 calories and don't focus on anything from my lose 20 in 3 weeks plan.

Just stick to this plan and lose weight permanently FOREVER! and...

Your workout plan is GREAT as long as you can stand it but if it gets to be too much for you - I would limit tae-bo to 3-4 times a week

When I put my weight of 268 pounds and height of 5'8 into your how to lose 50 pounds in 5-8 months calculator it said that I should start out eating 1779-2372 calories a day. Isn't that a lot of calories for me to be eating? I mean I thought to lose weight I had to lessen the calories. Also if this is the calories I'm suppose to eat can I use the tricks from your how to lose 20 pounds diet, such as eating a raw veg and/or fruit with a protein shake before a meal and then eating a meal up to 300 calories? Also is doing 30 mins - 1 hour of Taebo and 2 miles of walking 5 days a week too much of a workout?

Any protein shake is fine - I personally use Optimum nutrition's whey protein.

Don't worry about how many or when you should drink a shake - just stick with how many total calories you need to lose weight and use shakes to help you get all the calories you need to lose weight

Sup man like the website, I'm pretty motivated by all the tips and help here. I have a couple of questions on a diet im making. First of all, I'm 5'8 240 Pounds or so, so I should be eating 2000+ a day. I am 60 years old and want to find my waist again. I found your site and am pleased with all your great home exercise videos. I also like how the site fills in/plans the number of calories one should eat for each 10 pounds of weight loss. Am a bit lost with my calorie counting..is it ok to eat foods that a higher in calories yet fat from calorie is lower or low in calories but fat content is higher e.g Calories in a Diet coke is only 1 as opposed to Coconut water which is 48.

Just wanted to Thank You for the interval advice I have jump started my Metabolism by walking at 3 for 2 minutes then running at 7 for one minute in the beginning I could only do this for 20 minutes I have in 2 weeks time worked up to 45 minutes! I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks, I'm so excited Thank You!
Also your inner thigh, shoulder, arms, love handles and butt exercises are awesome I can see and feel a difference in just 2 weeks!
I am going to get a good protein shake mix is there any that you highly recommend? How many should I drink in a days time and is it best to drink them before or after my weight workouts? Should I drink them when doing intervals as well?

im 5'2 and i weigh 196 and im only 15 i gained 30 pounds when i stoped doing my sport but im too busy in school so i dont have time to play.im in summer, my sleeping schedule is not that good but helps my hunger go away. i go to sleep around 3-4 am and wake up around 2:30 - 3:30pm and i usually dont eat till i get hungry which is around 7 and i also eat till 1 in the morning and i follow that everyday . my friend told me to eat every other day or to starve yourself for 2 days and only drink water and after those two days your stomach will only support small portions of food.i found this website and i really want to know what i should do before school starts. but i dont want to gain muscles just lose all my fat from my arm and body. help!!??

#1 - you need to slow down and not exercise that much and...

#2 - you aren't going to lose weight fast becasue you are already lean and not overweight and...

#3 - the body fat stats on those home scales are very inaccurate and can give a much higher body fat reading than what you really are and...

#4 - instead of exercising 3 hours a day - you need to increase your intensity of exercise to a point where all you need is 20-60 mintues 3-4 times a week to burn fat and...
