An IT person, of all conceivable types or permutations of persons available world wide, should know the importance AND have the technical wherewithal to make sure any electronic device that you have ever handled is completely and utterly clean of anything related to you before you hand it over to anyone else.
I myself just recently had a similar problem. Now, the IT dept at Verizon has a nice series of interesting marine biology 'crawfish' pictures.

Dude. You need to watch Malcolm in the Middle on DVD. It is a great show. Granted, Abe Kenarban was not an IT geek in the show, but he was a white-collar professional. And he was loaded. And my former coworker Stan looks a lot like him
