I don't know if "licking the bacon" is a euphemism or not, but either way, probably better not to until you feel better.
P.S. if you are really, really laid up in bed sick for a few days, expect to find a house filled with pizza boxes,chinese food containers and empty chicken buckets when you get better.
P.S.S. I was told that I could not take time off work if I got the swine flu, because it wasn't original enough. I said I have swavian flu. y'know, when pigs fly.
