I sent the Sandals team an email about a week ago asking for a platform or issues description, and have had no response.
Pennachio lost any chance of ever having my vote or support with his answer to my question at the PA Young Democrats convention.
First, he changed the question around, and didn't answer the question I actually asked, and second, what he did say showed his support of government control over people's lives and the continued expansion of the police state.

If I remember correctly Andrew your question to Pennacchio was very similar to the motion you made at the last Young Dems meeting, the one I tabled because of it's controversial nature...

Pennachio? Sorry, I want a candidate who can win, and winning will take $$$. Between Rendell and Casey's fundraising machines it's conceivable that Jr. could raise $15-20 million. He will need that much. I am confident in predicting the Slick Rick will raise of $20 million himself. In short, re: Casey - don't hate the player, hate the game.

Shawn,
As I said in the post, this is not about Casey it is all about the game. Second, whoever wins the Democractic nomination will get all the $$$ they need, period. Do you think that if Pennacchio were to win everyone would say "oh shit, I guess we will just let little Mr. Man On Dog have his seat back" - seriously?
By the way, I am glad to see you are alive. I wasn't sure if anyone made it home safe from that little drunken escapade last week. I didn't hear from Patrick for several days!

Good post. I've been against precursory politics for years and yet both parties increasingly believe it's the way to go. Look at Arnold's race in California and Ted Kennedy's race in Massachussetts. Both men have already gotten their party's nomination for the next race and they both have builtup a huge war chest to discourage any challengers. This politics is sick and it drives voters away from both parties.

The motion I made at the YDs meeting was for the YDs to support the PA Constitution (Article I, Section 21) -- I asked Mr. Pennacchio about the the origins of the 2nd Amendment being in the ability of the people to protect themselves from an occupying or legitimate (the British at the time) government intent on depriving them of thier natural rights.
Mr. Pennacchio talked about how we needed an "assault weapons" ban to prevent terrorists from getting guns.
How many weapons used in crimes are acquired legally?

The Democratic party is party in decline. God fearing Americans know that the Democrats are the party of the abortionist, the homosexual, and various other forms of immoral social behavior. Democrats stand for nothing. They would fight for nothing. Rather, they turn and run from a just fight. They lack the moral strength to look evil in the eye, call for what it is, and defeat it. America has empowered the Republican patriots by giving them control of the executive branch and both houses of Congress. The courts shall be next. GOD WILLS IT! (Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. You cannot find your path to Jesus by sponsoring a party with the the blood stained hands of millions of babies)

Abortion seems to be the ONLY point you people keep making -- over and over and over again. I'm a Catholic and don't like abortion, but those who want one will get it no matter the law. That has nothing to do with getting closer to Christ! You might want to look into helping others, instead of preaching. Try some volunteer work, possibly at a hospice, and watch people who really care about life!!!! Then maybe you'll find your path to Jesus .

G Dog,
Although it's heartening to see the commanding lead Casey has over Santorum in recent polls, TCF is one to believe that your candidate Pennacchio can also soundly beat him as well.
As horrible and vulnerable a candidate that makes Santorum as well, like-minded Dems of your state must challenge the notion that only a Conservative like Casey can win. It's obvious that Rendell and the DLCC are wary of taking on a substantive fight over issues concerning Pennsylvania voters, because they're afraid of the RNC and Karl Rove. And, the Democratic Party will defer to such chicken shit strategy unless proven otherwise.
TCF's advice? Don't be scared of a substantive party primary! Ignore the notion that challenging Casey will hurt your chances of defeating Santorum. Reach out to Gov. Dean and the DNC, and impress upon them that all of the above is true.
The incumbent Conservative U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald from Illinois decided not to run for re-election in 2004 (after only one term), long before Barack Obama even declared his candidacy. Fitzgerald was facing long odds in a state that was as progressively Blue, as TCF considers your state.
And, Obama neither had the endorsements or money Casey now has.
