GOP and College Comments

Interesting stuff. I have been to the south and attended SEC football. My son is an Auburn grad and in my opinion, there is no better place to experience college football than the SEC.

But there are few holes in your theory. First USC did go to Auburn and wiped the floor with them when they were a Pre season number 1 team. I was there. The score could have been 50 - 0 if they wanted.

As far as schools not wanting to play the SEC teams, that is just not true. In major college football, you will have to have a home and home series, which the SEC does not want. Year after year, the SEC has demonstrated an unwillingness to play tough, legitimate non conference teams.

Who does Alabama play every year that is a top team from outside of the SEC? Auburn? Georgia? Granted Tennessee is playing Cal and Florida plays FSU, but who else?

The SEC plays a very tough conference schedule. Maybe the toughest in the country. But they do not play tough out of conference games. Teams like SC, UCLA, Cal, Michigan, and others regularly play the top teams from other conferences. The SEC typically schedules mid level conferences.

I think the ball is in the hands of the SEC if they want to see a change.

Gravatar let's take a look at what 'SC has done when they've played the SEC in the past two years: pasted the SEC West Champion Arkansas 50-14, then 55-19 AT RAZORBACK STADIUM. Auburn in '03? Oklahoma (granted, not in the SEC) in '04? USC has consistently beaten the tar out of the best teams from the SEC, ACC, and the Big 12, and you can ask them to do no better.

Gravatar Hehe you're all funny.

Since my reply to both of you would be too long for the comments, I put an open response to you here
