I would think that with all the publicity this apparently has gotten after the verdict from some jurors that there would be a mistrial or perhaps an appeal. That is what you are saying right...that people just don't care? I would think a man's life is a very important thing to consider. I know it would matter to each and everyone of those jurors if it were them!
The same reason that books and movies are made about luxury liner Titanic and no one mentions the thousands of slaves that died in ships being transported to US. It is the discrimination of rank. No one cares about you if you don't have status.
As I've said before, this is the same place where Leonard Peltier was convicted of murder. Fargo is no place to find justice if you aren't white.

Can't understand why the judge upheld that finding....not that it doesn't happen all the time where I live, with Blacks and Hispanics.

If you're non-white and you get pulled over, better ahve your green card, or the call goes out to ICE, NICE, RICE, whatever that agency calls itself this week.
My favorite is Fargo's mini-Statue of Liberty on the main avenue bridge.

Several of Mevludin's supporters have written letters to the editor but not one of them was published. I just wish I could talk to just one of those jurors. Can someone please explain to me how I can go to the fair with my husband and FOUR KIDS..and now he is sitting in jail for 18 months for nothing?? Do you honestly think a man at the fair wearing white dress pants and with his children; could whip out a bat and start wailing on innocent people? I am the one who has seen my husband loose 20lbs and cry everyday to be in jail. I am the one who has to explain to our kids that- yes you with Daddy's the whole day at the fair and never left his side but everyone thinks he did something bad. I am the one who has experienced going through a Lie Dector test and passing yet no one CARES. Can someone please tell me how they found him guilty in the first place? I sat through the trial that had NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE and ONE eye witness that was 75% sure it was Mevludin. I just wish one juror could tell me how they came to their decision beyond a reasonable doubt!
I have a difficult time finding news, real news and information, of current events in North Daktoa. The Fargo Forum is a joke as a news source, that's for sure. They also seem more interested in stories from Minnesota.
Does anyone have other online suggestions for ND news?

Appeal this sucker to the ND supreme court if you have to (or if you can, I am not quite sure how it works).
I can't believe that the Forum won't print letters of Mevludin's supporters, but they print people complaining about movies! If this happened to a johnson or an anderson of Fargo, it would cause outrage (just the case, I am not even counting the jury bringing up race) It really is disgusting. I don't know what else to say. Is there any appeals lined up?
Foxessa, I sometimes read the high plains reader, although it is not really a newspaper (and a lot of times in sucks). It deals more with movie reviews and such, but sometimes it has local stories.

A collector of information needs to look at many sources ... I also look at the Wahpeton Daily News, which is pretty jokey too. But I graduated from h.s. there, and a lot of people I know are often on the front page photos and so on.

I just wish there was some way for me to help. I wish this could get national attention. I e-mailed a bunch of news places from MSNBC to ABC 20/20. If the nation could see what is happening right here in Fargo North Dakota. Do you think there is ANYONE sitting in jail anywhere else in the nation for 18 months for a fight???? I have seen and occasional brawl whether it was at a concert or a ball game. I have never heard of anyone getting 18 months in jail for it. I guess if you are white and drunk it's ok???
Chanda, have you contacted the ACLU of the Dakotas or any groups like that? If you want, you can email me a summary of the whole mess and I will email it to everyone I know. I am a member of a ton of activist groups, I could pass it along. i don't know what effect it will have, if any, but it is worth a try.

I have been concerned with this case from the day his Motion was dismissed for a new trial in which "newly discoved evidence" was rejected from the witness of a 20 year old lady.
Let's use our rights to help this man find Justice!
