The event in St. Paul was beyond my expectations. Even in Minnesota El Salvadorans were solid behind the FMLN.
Funes is not Chavez. There still are expectations he has to meet. I'm sure CAFTA, the Iraq War and crime will be big issues, besides the world economic crisis. El Salvador's poor which make up a big part of the population, live on $2.00 day.
It shows that the National Endowment for Democracy and CIA are not what they used to be.

Considering the high prices in Salvador, NOBODY could ever live on $2 a day there... Their average salary is actually about $6 000 a year... By contrast, in your beloved Cuba an average salary is $200 a year... But prices are much lower as well...
However, as result, when you go to an all-inclusive resort in El Salvador, a third of the guests are locals. In a Cuban all-inclusive resorts, all the guests come from abroad...
