It was a toss up between Of Montreal and Papercuts, but since Of Montreal is much more well known, I decided to go with papercuts.

Andrew Bird should get an honorable mention as well.

I was disappointed by releases from Modest Mouse, Wilco and the White Stripes. All not bad albums, but they just didn't really click with me.

Good list. I was lucky enough to see Arcade Fire this year and they were superb. As an American the song Windowsill must resonate with you greatly. Best anti-war, anti-Bush song of the year? A great album indeed.

I'm embarrassed to say I haven't heard any of MIA's stuff. Hopefully I'll get to see Radiohead again next summer, too. They are, and have been, the best band of the last twelve years or so and they never stand still either. The Beatles comparison is correct.

Polly Jean's album is the stand out album of year for me, however. She shows how versatile she is on White Chalk. A sign of a true artist in my opinion.

Windowsill is one of my favorite songs on the album V. You've got good taste in music. I don't get why some people were turned off by PJ Harvey's album. I love it.

Seeing Radiohead perform is one of my goals in life.

Incidentally, I read an article in The Observer (a liberal Sunday Newspaper over here) and I believe Radiohead is touring the states in May. We're hoping to catch them the end of June. My better half says she's purchased the tickets but we await confirmation. This will be the third time I've seen them. Can't wait.
