Mayday greetings to you Graeme, and to Ren and any of the other good folks who read this blog. We are having a May Day dinner at the Pulp and Paper Workers Union hall in our town.
We had an immigrants rights themed march, with mostly Latinos. Our contingent was next to the IWW, and we took up their slogans.

The May Day Dinner was very successful. About 50 people showed which is good for a small town and double the number last year. Many of the attendees were youth, also a good sign at this type of event.

The actions of Trotsky are 100% relevant to any contemporary view of his followers. This is especially relevant in that Trotsky was a war criminal with a record similar to Saddam.

Only if you are a Stalinist (which, oddly, has never been rendered "Stalinite" -- perhaps because that sounds like an exotic mineral). I believe it was Irving Howe who explained that the distinction between "Trotskyist" and "Trotskyite" is equivalent to the distinction between "Socialist" and "Socialite".
