Strangling North Dakota with no mercy

His point, mainly that terrorism begets terrorism, is obvious and hardly controversial
On the contrary, it's hardly obvious.
If it was obvious, 9/11 terrrists would come from Japan, Vietnam, Nicaragua, or countless other countries where United States actually did something wrong (like dropping a atom bomb, burn half the place with napalm, finance a civil war, occupy it, etc.)
But curiously enough, 9/11 terrorists came from Saudi Arabia and Egypt. US never dropped an A-bomb on Mecca, it didn't throw napalm on Cairo, it didn't encourage Contras in Saudi Arabia. No US soldier ever raped a Saudi woman (unlike in Okinawa, where US marines have raped many).
So, no, your theory that "terrorism begets terrorism" is flat-out wrong.
On 9/11, US was attacked by people whom US was helping, not hurting.

I'm not really big on the direct correlation between 9/11, and revenge on the sins of US imperialism. I think the argument could be made, but I'm not big on using 09/11.
I would say something as because of US policy, it is politically isolated everywhere in the world.

I believe that Wright wasn't being incident specific. He even mentioned Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The point was, and is, what goes around comes around. That doesn't necessary mean tit for tat actions and reactions.
Certainly you all don't subscribe to the "they hate us for our freedom" bit?

I do, but that's not the only reason they hate us. It's sure a part of it though. These are a bunch of people that want to keep their women wrapped from head to toe, and you think they don't despise the way we encourage our women to run around with next to nothing on?
Look at how many things that go on here they hate. There are a lot of things we do here that will get you publicly stoned or beheaded in Saudi Arabia, and I am talking about publicly and legally sanctioned executions.
How could they not hate us? Everything about our way of life conflicts with theirs.
France is now roughly 25 percent Muslim. If and when they become the majority, does anybody really believe France won't go through profound social changes as a result? If you believe that you are deluding yourselves.
The key to understanding Islam is to realize that, while so-called moderates may make up the majority, they have no voice. When their imams talk, they either do as they are told or they just shut the fuck up.

Graeme,

Arab masses were far more angry when the Danes published their cartoons than when the Abu Ghraib torture was exposed.
No, they don't hate the West for its "freedom". They hate the West for its weakness and wimpiness. And especially its hypocrisy.
Pagan,
France is now roughly 25 percent Muslim
We are not in 2020 yet. In 2007, it was 7.5 %... and only 3% actually practise their religion.

9/11 was an inside job, a false flag operation to give the corpocracy carte blanc to invade any country in the Mid east we feel like. If not, than why are planning to invade Iran, a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and actually offered to help us capture CIA asset Osama Bin Laden?
If you need an example of US sponsored terrorism, look no farther than the goings on in Gaza, collective punishment is a war crime, and yet it goes on, with continued financial support from the good old "we don't do anything wrong against Arabs" US.

You're probably too stupid to realize that you just completely contradicted yourself. If Osama Bin Laden works for the Americans (as you claim), why would the Americans want Iranian help in "capturing" him ?
Your insane conspiracy theories have just strangled each other inside your empty head.

Sonia,
I wouldn't say Lew's head is empty or that he is stupid, but I can certainly say that you are rude and full of yourself.
"A conspiracy theory is a hypothesis that alleges a coordinated group are and/or were secretly working together to commit illegal or wrongful actions including hiding the existence of the group and its activities. In notable cases the hypothesis contradicts what was or is represented as the mainstream explanation for historical or current events."
I'd say, for arguments sake, that the readily accepted version of many of the events surrounding 9-11 ("reasons" and "actions" and "actors" of 9-11) are nearer to the definition of "conspiracy" than Lew's theory.
(Osama was trained by the CIA which is not the same as being on their payroll as of late.)
Our foreign policy (at least since WWI) has been the cause of many atrocities in the name of "freedom"...
No US soldier ever raped a Saudi woman
Sonia,
Are you sure about that? (Bet you're wrong.)
