I find it very difficult to fault the NHS too. The staff at least.
While I accept that there ARE problems in relation to funding, allocation of funds, possibly too many managers and accountants etc, the whole ethos of the NHS is well and truly intact as faw as I'm concerned.
I think many people forget the fact that when they kick the shit out of the NHS, they are actually kicking the shit out of a huge number of devoted and underpaid staff. Those devoted and underpaid staff do their utmost to ensure that, should we ever need them, they'll be there for us.
People can complain about the administration of the organisation all they like, but it breaks my heart to hear so many people put down an enormous number of people working to keep them well when they're only real complaint is that they didn't get enoughed mashed potatoes for dinner, or it took them longer than 3 seconds to get an appointment.
Like any organisation, things can go wrong - they ARE human, after all. But I agree with you Graeme, the number if 'justifiable' complaints is, I believe, very small.
Great to hear Graeme Junior's little op went well!

In my vast experiences of the nhs (all two of them, both finger related....*shudders*) I've never had any problems.
I find it very frustrating when I hear about people trying to sue hospital staff after things that seem to be genuine mistakes...these people didn't have to go into the medical profession at all, and if they hadn't there would be no one to help you in the first place.
Not sure the words are coming out right, but you can probably work out what I mean.
