You've started the new book?! How exciting. What's happening with the other one?

Uh-oh... just realised. You're trying to draw us into your procrastination plans, aren't you? You'll probably have to reply to comments. That could take days, what with the weather and all.

No! No more excuses. You must write the piece about your mother now.
It's called tough love....
One of EJ Howards (many) boyfriends used to LOCK her into a room everyday until she had written the requisite amount.

Daily word count and no excuses. It's the only way.

AAAAAAAAAARGH! she said it!!!! Daily word count!!!! I'm quivering with procrastineurosis!!!
The trouble with blogs is they keep you from books. But they're more constructive than staring out the window watching airplanes cross the sky very very slowly...

Thanks for the link, by the way. I've just noticed. You must have cracked that pesky template thing...

Yeah Mark -I cracked it mostly - all except getting the pre Haloscan comments back on.
As for blogs keeping you from books - yes and no. Some of it will probably find its way into books - that's my excuse anyway. And it is good writing exercise.... though possibly staring at planes would be as good for the soul...if there were any to be seen here; there aren't -you only hear them sometimes.
Thanks Zinnia and Morphess... tough love ... yes... and if Deirdre you want to be part of my procrastinations feel free - I love it. New book started? Actually no. Just cooking. Always slow process with me - they're the better for it. And no really that isn't an excuse..the last one was conceived in 2000 and only lately finished - admittedly delayed by work on something else which hasn't so far got published. (Noone wants to hear about people with mental problems in a run-down hostel.) Meanwhile I'll keep blogging family stuff. That is serious stuff for me. Let's see where it takes us.
Cheers - a smiley if I could add it other than like this -that will do for the moment. Heigh - preview has just made me realise Haloscan does let me add it for real. Whoopee!

Vitally important information (in case you don't have it already): clicking on the little question mark to the right of "Comment:" (above the box where you write comments) gives a new window's worth of coloured smilies to choose from.

Smilies!!!! Smilies!!!! I know how to do smilies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Granny - I have the same problem with getting rid of haloscan. I even wrote to them about it but no joy. these software companies are like an old person holding up the ear trumpet to the deaf ear when they don't want to listen...
