Gravatar The story always goes on and the grief is always there; sometimes only a lurking, shadowy presence and sometimes shut behind a locked door. The stories need to be told, generation after generation, until ultimately these are just stories about strangers who just happen to be relatives.

Gravatar beautiful work granny p. the image of those poor children having lost a mother now having their teddys taken away as well is heartbreaking.

Gravatar You're right Lin. The job of parents in each generation though is somehow to let go the grief passed down to them, so that it doesn't move into the next generation. Thanks Ova Girl. It is such a painful story...how painful I realise more, telling it.

Gravatar I tell some stories of my youth, and the experiences are so far removed from what my kids experience that they have a hard time believing that they really happened.
