Now onto you and your aches...do you think a really strong muscle relaxant may be in order? Are there any osteopaths in your area...they seem to understand more fully how to mend neck problems. I did my neck in a number of years ago. Had pain radiating up the back of my skull, down my arm, etc. Between ice and heat and more ice and more heat and no real relief, it was finally the osteopath who, through manipulation and strong drugs, got me sorted. Feel better.
