we'll be facing water shortages and power shortages (because of the water shortage) here soon... I wish I could understand how people really think it's still important to have a clean car!

Lovely to read you again GP! Been out of contact for soooo long.
Sympathies on watching pieces of your little haven turn into lager-lout heaven. It was ever thus...and NO! they shouldn't be allowed to put in baths...
We only have rain water here too, also on an electrical pump with frequent power cuts.....
I know I owe you an e!

When summer starts feeling heavy and water precious, it's time to watch Chinatown again.
Angelenos use water as if it isn't a precious commodity. Unbelieveable, really.

We've got that water thing happening in Sydney too Granny P. Restrictions and fines if caught hosing down car (must use buckets) although no one really seems to enforce this. But we are not as bad as having no water at all - it's really worrying isn't it? And stupid resorts with their water wasting ways.
It's a mixed up world out there...now we've got cats in the nest boxes too...!

We have a well and live near a reservoir so I have trouble imagining not having water whenever I want it. Even during a drought a few years ago we never had water problems in terms of our well. Bigger towns, with town water, were conserving while we didn't even think about it twice.
