Looks like you'll be flying into the sunshine to remember your friend with others. Enjoy the spring as best you can.
I tend to always be on the lookout for rodents in this house. Thus far, knock on wood, only a young wood rat. That was enough to do me in, though. But a fried mouse in your toaster???? P, that's beyond acceptable. I'm afraid I'd have to replace the toaster or buy a toasting fork.
Talk soon. L

We too are in the midst of roadworks and construction here. The main road into the town has been dug up tewice in the last year for improvements. The only routes out of town are up VERY steep narrow streets which neither my car or van can manage. So I park at the top of town and walk the last km to the house.
The council has even built a multi-storey car park in town with 400 spaces - but to get to it you have to use those same VERY steep and narrow streets.
I'm just hanging in there waiting for the work to finish later this year.
Wonder what the mouse thought - "Crumbs!" perhaps.

Just off...Thanks A and L and greetings Nigel - just checked your site! Oh the lunacy - ...wonder who benefited from your car park? Doesn't sound like drivers will.

happy trails. condolences on the loss of a friend.
i hate mice in the house... but not enough to eat them toasted. i think i'd be off toast too.
ever read Farley Mowatt's 'Never Cry Wolf'? he claims to have eaten mice, in his studies of wild wolves.

The thing I'm trying to work out is how the mouse managed to switch the toaster on FROM THE INSIDE.
Come back soon. We miss you.

A sad occasion Granny P, look forward to your return.
It's wild and windy here in Sydney too. Keeping an eye out for toasted mice (eek!)

PS - to MG especially. Mouse didn't toast itself. Beloved did at some point. Murderer.
