ever-welcome Link - it's a good piece isn't it. No point in trying to fudge stuff up myself when other people say it better. The hatefulness of Philip Morris etc; and the sheer sliminess of it. Just read a piece about Richard Branson who brought out his stockholders and took his business away from the stock-market, because his ethos didn't fit the way city institutions work....ie - I'm saying it -make money no matter what. Which sums it up.

You heard it. It's great. I also read that he took his company back off the stockmarket not longer after he'd joined it, because his ethos didn't fit city institutions. Presumably he wouldn't be allowed to do this if he was still a public company - not in the interests of his shareholders etc. So much for city institutions. Hurray for him.
