I can understand Beloved's pain ... having a birthday in the middle of the 'festive season'. My sister's birthday is at the end of Janauary and even then people managed to combine her Christmas and birthday presents ... poor deprived kid!

Party went beautifully - sometimes coincidence of new year and birthday good - Beloved even got fireworks - not that he likes them muchand weather celebrated too. The stars nearly outdid the fireworks. Yes, Pat - obviously you know about tequila...

Glad it went well - and that everything is working; long may it remain so. A friend of mine has his birthday on New Year's Day. He says it is the worst day of all, even worse than Christmas Day or New Year's Eve, because everyone is broke and hungover and fed up with celebrating. We made him a little party one year, when several of us were weekending together. He was in his mid-30s then and he cried because nobody had done anything like that for him since he was a small child.
