And Obama said he had been to 57 states with one more to go.

Biden mentioned a three letter word -- J O B S.

Hahahahaha.... You do realize what you wrote has so little relevancy to the post that you might as well spam the entire blogosphere with the exact same message, right? Why don't you go post that message on a forum about fishing or something.

Because you're obviously fishing for something that isn't here.

Gravatar Brings new insight to the term "going Rogue"

I don't care what McCain says publicly he was a man who had resigned himself to defeat at least two weeks prior to the election.

Maybe Palin really brought to light for him what his ideology has become by pandering to its extreme base.

There is no question he was dirty in the keating deal...which says he is greedy...nothing new about a greedy politician...but this right wing hate thing is something else entirely, it is greedy too but also dangerous and narcissistic. I don't think he fits that mold. But Palin does, to a t.

I agree she cost him the election...I just hope he learned something from it.

great post...I had not seen this.

Gravatar Hi Kim,

I don't think McCain has to learn anything from this. He won't be running again for the presidency.

What I wonder is, as the Republican party struggles to redefine itself, will it go the Palin route? Will it continue to risk scandals from opportunist candidates, rely on voter disenfranchisement to win close elections, and fall back on people's racial fears as a last resort?

Or will it radically diversify in recognition of our diverse nation? Will it become a party of inclusion, rather than exclusion?

Gravatar BTW...shared this with my readers and linked to you.

yeah...I guess he decided on going with the sad grandpa.

Still, I hope he gets what happened and why on a personal level.
He would make a great voice against the extreme right if he would use this as living example of what extremism leads to.
It might help the republican party get their act together if they saw him "get it"...that to learn from your mistakes and take a different approach is what true strength looks like.

Instead of trying to scare people into following you and then taking extreme advantage of their trust like the Bush Administration has done.

Now that would be a Maverick move.

Gravatar Hi Kim

Yes, you are absolutely right.

I'm in a fight at home. Between those who believe that we should openly fight who refuse to change. Those who recognize those who refuse to change and therefore seek different sites of confrontation. And those who give up altogether.

I'm the one in the middle. There are those who won't change. I can't change them. I've tried, but it's not going to happen. I refuse to give up, but instead of fighting to the death, I redefine the fight such that they, hopefully, will undermine their own positions with logical inconsistencies. My way is not very effective, but neither are the other ways. I just have faith in the slow objective.

This shared objective is leading into a huge fight, on the level of how to achieve it. Some what fast change. Some believe change takes time, but needs influence. Some believe change doesn't need influence. I'm in the middle group.

Gravatar Maybe Palin really is a maverick...
