Gravatar Well put together.

I think the point you make about McCain now being too controlled to back away from something he clearly knows is wrong is something every American should have put under their nose. It is a metaphor for the rest of us and an omen of what our lives will soon be like if John McCain's handlers get full control of this country. They will not hesitate to use whatever means necessary to make us conform to their view of the world.

When you go along with things you know are wrong to enrich or protect yourself you always end up screwed in the end...just like McCain is finding out now.

Good post, Gray.

Kim

Gravatar Thanks, Kim.

And you brought up a great point. How can we trust McCain to be the maverick, to be the man who stands up for his beliefs against his own party, if he can't do it in his own campaign? Just last night the Chairman of the Virginia Republican Party compared Obama to bin Laden on the basis of Obama's "friendship" with Ayers. On Fox News, McCain refused to repudiate the comments directly, said he'd have to look at the comments and make his judgment later, and then went on to defend the association of Obama with Ayers in the same statement. McCain has sold out. His "honorable maverick" status is now nothing more than an empty name.

Gravatar I feel the McCain Lobby have failed miserably in their smear tactics and even if there are a handful of supporters actually believing in the drivle spouted by the McCain-Palin Camp they clearly stand in the minority.

Gravatar Hi Yanjiaren,

I absolutely agree with you. By entertaining the racial fears that some of his supporters have about Obama, McCain scares off the moderate voters he needs to win this election.

Obama continues to surge in the polls. When I wrote this post, there were eight toss-up states. Now there are only six: Colorado and Florida are more firmly in Obama's corner.

Ignoring toss-up states, Obama already has 313 electoral votes as of right now:

That gives him a solid lead of 43 electoral votes. Considering that the state with the largest number of electoral votes is Florida, with 27, McCain would have to overcome a lot to win at this point.

Gravatar greetings gray,

Just a quick note to let you know that I posted about adding you to my links.

Hope it brings you some new fans!
