Splendid!

Also, viel Glueck and tschuss!

Gravatar Alda - Danke

1) I know I should've put a 'Mitt' in there but I fat fingered a key. My point is that I tried even though I knew I might not get it correct.

2) Altbier is a nice one. Weissbier is good fun too. Pils = pfft.

3) Respect and also a bit of a laugh when the receiver goes down

Gravatar wibble.

schwarzwaldekirschtorte.

Possibly my favourite german word.

Gravatar Duch - OOOOHHH Black Forest Gateaux. Yum.

nb It's 'Schwarzwalderkirschtorte' but what's an 'r' between friends.

Gravatar the difference between buddies and fiends, I'm guessing!!

Gravatar I lived in California for 15 years, surrounded by Spanish speaking people. I should have learned much more than how to order a super large chicken burrito.

Sadly to this day if I try to find out where the bathroom is, turns out I'm asking for shoes.

Thank God for hand signals is all I'm saying.

Gravatar ah - international sign language rocks....!!

Gravatar Idgie / Duch - I can do international sign language, sadly I nearly always back it up with juvenile English spoken with the host country accent eg 'Pee-pee'

Gravatar Not necessarily making Total Sense but making yourself Understood.

How true.

Gravatar Maria - How on earth do you get the Italics to work?

Gravatar I find SPEAKING ENGLISH LOUDLY AND CLEARLY works with most foreigners.
They 're just being lazy you know.

Gravatar Is 'schlong' (not sure if I spelt it right) the German word for willy? Just thought I'd ask....

Gravatar When i first got married i moved to Germany and i didn't bother learning the langauge but we might be going back next year for two years.I regret not learning it but its a must this time round.

Gravatar Annie - What about people who look foreign?

NML - Schwantz!

Growing up - Ja

Gravatar I was in Germany for 2 months and quickly found myself talking english with german sentence structure... "I am to the shops going" ... and eventually chucking in german words (appropriately natuerlich) as I learnt them!

Gravatar I find that the whole point of learning a foreign language is to be able to tell when you're being insulted and to eavesdrop on people who think you don't understand them.

And to order food.

Gravatar to get the italics to work, type the following, without the spaces in between the

< i >what you want italicized< / i >

Gravatar Well, I don’t know, you say that your German is not that great and yet judging from your comments box you seem to have got all the major elements of the language down just fine.

Gravatar I agree with James. It's always nice to know when you're being insulted in another language.

Even better when you can insult them back.

Gravatar italicized - made up word or surgical procedure...?

Gravatar Miss Tickle - Trouble is you spend a little while sounding like Yoda.

James - And find out where the Hotel is.

Kermit - Thanks

Tokyo - Verleicht or something close to that spelling

Ruggy - As long as you can pronounce it correctly of course

Gravatar Ah witty you are! I found it helped to drink as much of the beer as possible.

Do you think yoda sounds as odd when translated into german?

Vielleicht??
