I think the bird is a barn swallow, but I'm not 100% sure. Have to get Cousin RJ up here to identify them!

And the book is identified correctly, Laura Gayle. Mr. Childress was a great influence on this area.

Leslie-I grew up in Rocky Mount, but my dad was from Callaway -- he grew up on Algoma farm. So, I know the area well -- and have been near Squirrel Spur many times, but before you set up your store! I hope to get back to Virginia soon-- I miss it so very much.
