Or simply to the fact that they need to be protected from a) media and blogger scrutiny b) kidnappers c) crazy people d) crazy students.

Good point name.

A private school offers protection and security from the general public and media that a public school does not. That's just a fact.

Gravatar Personally, I think that's great they are going to private schools.

Soulbrother, it's Thuyen, occasionally poster on Booker Rising.

Gravatar GG: You are reaching big time. If you were President, would you send your kids to public school? I wouldn't.

Gravatar Especially not in Washington DC!!!

It does strike me as odd, though, that all of our representatives and members of the administration champion the public school system, but refuse to send their own children there.

We still live in America - and we all have a choice of how we want our children to be educated.

Gravatar People seem to be missing the fact that Barack Obama has long been a strong advocate of public school education and opposes vouchers allowing for parental choice. He has every right to send his kids where he wants, but considering his public stance on education, sending his own kids to a private school speaks to his hypocrisy.

Gravatar I should say - we all have a choice as long as we are able to pay through the nose for a private education.

Of course - I need to send the gentle reminder that homeschooling is always a cost effective option. For now, anyway..

Gravatar GG: This didn't occur to me until just now: Are you developing "ODS" (Obama Derangement Syndrome?
Just kidding, but seriously, for safety reasons there is no way I would send my children to a public school anywhere.

Does that mean Obama isn't an elitist? Absolutely not.

Gravatar Its becaues they don't want their kids being around middle class scum who cling to their guns and religion like us. What a hypocrite.
