Let's be very clear. He wasn't fired for his views on same-sex marriage. He didn't even utter his views about same-sex marriage. He was fired for directly insulting a colleague.
Brookstone would be just as right to fire someone who said to Vadala on the job, “Your Christianity? I believe that’s bad stuff.” Because Brookstone’s employees have promised to not to do that sort of thing as a condition of their employment.

Well, then the lady should have been fired for bragging about her lesbian marriage to someone she knows has Christian values and would not approve, offending him knowingly.
Liberals cannot have it both ways.

That makes no sense. She did not condemn him or criticize him. She talked about her fiance. Do you think Brookstone should fire EVERYBODY who talks about their fiance? Or do you think there should be one rule for how straights can talk about their families and a different, more restrictive rule for gays?

Since when is "bad stuff" an insult? That lesbo knew about his Christianity and clearly set him up. He didn't "harass" or "impose" his beliefs on anybody. He simply gave his opinion and just like Carrie Prejean and many others, he felt the wrath of the Left.

"Simply giving your opinion" can certainly be insulting. And it is insulting harassment to tell someone their race, gender, orientation, or religion is "bad stuff."

Peter Vadala may be a Christian but he's also incredibly rude and stupid. In a civil society you just don't go around telling people they're "deviant" without expecting some sort of payback. He deserved to be fired and was, not because of his Christian beliefs, but because he was a nasty coworker.

To say "she knew she was a Christian" or "she knew about his Christianity" makes the mistaken assumption that Christian = Anti-Gay-Marriage. The body of Christ is by no means homogenous, we hold a wide range of views on all manner of social issues.

Set him up? She was talking about her marriage. That's what people do when they are getting married. Are you saying gay people should be silent about their lives?
If gay people are supposed to abide by different rules when talking about weddings, commitment ceremonies, etc. then what's next?
Can they put pictures on their desks of their partners and families without fear of verbal reprisal? Or how about inviting their partners and families at company events?
