If you look closely, its an unhappy face! The lips are at the bottom and the two eyes, the pick up is the nose!

turn it upside down it looks like gonzo or Elmo from the Muppets... although personally Elmo shouldn't count as he is now oh so horribly patronizing to the wee kiddies.
Maybe it's supposed to resemble pagliacci the clown or pay homage to in a kind of totally unrelated medium.
I think it's only a step away from the Wangcaster.

I am aware of the Wangcaster - no need to Google it now - but there is no way that horrible looking thing is ever going to make it onto my blog. It is quite simply puerile.
