I was doubtful about the use of the word "first" too. I did a Google search to check - found a link to what I suppose is the story you've linked on there - but it was a dead link.
That news link is dated September 27, 2006 - we don't have a date for the concrete guitar on the Warmoth website, so who can say which was first?
I have to admit that the Kentucky University guitar is much more aesthetically pleasing!

Agreed, I also think it is much nicer to look at.
And yeah, if there's no date for the Warmoth one, there's no way to tell... perhaps we can analyze the levels of the water in the river in the background and the colour of the grass, and statistically determine the date the picture was taken :D
Or google:D
Which turns up this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p...h?
v=ppusLiJYKd4
... which shows that the same guy made BOTH guitars :P
Go figure, eh ?

That is really cool, just that it should not be used by any temperamental guitar player that smash it against his Marchall amp.

Oh yes - Carver Doug is a legend. Possibly not for all the right reasons, though.
Nice to hear from you, Jeff.

First or not, this is great. To me, this relects similar views on guitar building to my own. Guitars should be fun, we need to experiment, create new designs with different materials. I feel that a large majority of guitar players are focused more on the brand name on the headstock rather than how good a guitar feels to play.
