Only one tiny thing, I feel matching short plate Bigsbys would look better.

Gravatar I'm not a massive fan of the silver sparkle either its a bit Joe Perry circa "Dude looks like a lady" but apart from that a pretty stunning instrument!

Gravatar sparkle finish looks to me more french local ball orchestra in the early 80s than glam rock - glam rock I have no problem with, as long as they are busy with music and not just looks!

Gravatar I've seen this guitar in the flesh and it is very nice indeed. I quite fancied getting one myself, but I'm sure I would have regretted it. Doublenecks always lok impressive but they are much too cumbersome.

Haven't I blogged about this before? Perhaps it was just a passing mention.

But isn't it a discontinued model? Or has it been re-continuted?

Gravatar They are mainly cumbersome bcz they set the necks parallel, Moserite had this sorted out back in the 60's!

Gravatar thanks Andy, my first idea was to post about the Mosrite - indeed much better with divergent necks - but couldn't find a good picture of it - I might use yours for the next post!
The double-neck is on the Gretsch website so I supposed it's recontinued!

Gravatar As much as I fancy sparkle finish (I don't own any sparkle guitar), as much as I like Crashocaster/Splattercaster (I'd love to have one), I totally agree with you that the new Gretsch Pin-stripes are crap.

I was considering buying a skin from http://www.axewraps.com/ for my Stratocaster 56 Reissue... Relic is just Soooo 2007. Just kidding.

Gravatar The matching Bigsby plates would make it a bit cleaner, but aside from that, I really like it.

Couldn't play it well enough to do it justice, but it would look nice on the stand...

Gravatar Cool d-neck. Never saw one like that before. A very good find. If Liberace had been a guitar player, he would have loved the sparkle finish!
