Great pictures and it is heartening to know that so many are defending the defnders against the nut cases. Keep up the good work.
I am a member of Protest Warrior and been in the process of formulating plans to join Operation Defend the White House today but couldn't because of Katrina. Will you be going to that one? If so, can't wait for the great pics.

Well, I may be off the web for awhile, but I can still read posts, even if I can't write them. Awesome counterprotest; keep on puting those simpletons down the way they should be. Honestly I'm revolted by them and their abuse of free speech. They are all seditious fools, and should all be ashamed of themselves.

My favorite quote from Teddy Roosevelt, a real Republican who put the country ahead of the party.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." President Theodore Roosevelt, 1918"

I might not agree with the anti-war protesters but I also disagree with the administration's policies and I cannot turn a blind eye to either wrong, hence while I do not support the anti-war protesters, I also do not support this president and cannot understand why people who love our country confoud the war with the troops. The strategy is not there, and our guys are in danger, dying valiantly everyday. As such they deserve a better strategy than just hoping the currently failed strategy will work out in the end.
I posted this in another blog and it explains my views a bit more fully. If you so desire you can check out my blog so that you can see that I am not what you would call a liberal wiener.
The reason many oppose the war is not because GW took us to war on false pretenses (i.e. Saddam's WMD's) rather, we have a problem with it because he is currently lying to the American people. He continues to say that we are fighting terrorists over there, so we don't have to fight them over here. That is a fallacy. Why? Because these people have networks all over the world which they tap for their ends. It is true that we have not had an attack since 9/11, but neither did we have an attack after the 1993 bombing of the WTC until the bombing of the USS Cole by al Qaeda (at least a major attack on the US or US forces, like then we have had attacks on our allies). In fact we are due for an attack, and the administration has refused to ask the American people for the sacrifices necessary to win the current struggle. He has refused to tax gasoline or raise taxes to ensure that we are able to pay for our debts. Currently our account deficit continues to grow, while gasoline gets more expensive and while terrorism continues to spread throughout the Muslim world. I support you guys, in fact some of my friends just returned from Iraq and they told me pretty much the same thing, unless we change our tactics we are going to loose because the enemy, everyday it survives wins. An enemy, to defeat us does not have to do so on the field of battle. That was proven by Ho Chi Min and the Algerians. Never did either defeat the US or France in the field of battle and yet both are seen as losses to our side. That is the essence of guerrilla warfare, a guerrilla wins by surviving another day, because everyday it survives it proves that the authority in power does not have complete control over the territory it rules. In Iraq this is what we are witnessing, you guys are being sent on missions to root out the enemy from city after city only to withdraw and have the enemy come back to harass and eventually take over again as happened in Fallujah, Tal Afar and other cities. In the South, the Islamist Iranian-backed parties are getting stronger and are cowing the population to accept their will as a fait accompli. I disagree with the anti-war protestors mainly because they are anti-war no matter what, but I understand the reasons for the protests, mainly the lack of a coherent strategy on the part of this president (whom I voted for) to defeat the insurgency in Iraq and to secure the successeswe have had in Afghanistan. Couple that with the enlarged deficit we currently have, while the president refuses to raise taxes for the top 1% percent of the population (the richest segment of our population) and we have a recipe for disaster. The thruth is we need more troops in Iraq, our own and Iraqi to secure the border with Syria, Saudi, Jordan and Iran and to be able to maintain control of al Anbar province hence denying the enemy the support of the local population. Unless we do that, this war will continue, a war without end and that can only be bad for us, since we have bigger fish to fry in this current struggle. We need to cajole the Syrians to reform, go after the North Koreans who continue playing diplomatic games with us meanwhile keeping their nuclear weapons, not to mention defeat al Qaeda whose base continues to be the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. I support our troops and support the war, but believe that the way it is being handled is totally inadequate from what we need to win. This president has failed to lead, and in that failure has doomed us to a war that is longer than it needed to be. He has failed his test of leadership and for that he shuold be held accountable. I trusted him when he said that he would do everything in his and our power to bring our enemies to justice or justice to our enemies, so far he has failed. bin Laden and Zawahiri are still at large, Zarqawi has emerged as a potent threat, he has allowed the Iraqi insurgency to develop further than it could ever have dreamed of inturn endangering the very battle which is of the utmost important for our aims. I love my country, and I believe in the values upon which it is built and that is why I oppose the current administration because it has failed to uphold them.

NYkrindc, you are not only a liberal weenie, you are a moonbat. Do you want to see the President personally go and capture bin Laden and Zarqawi? The GWOT is not a failure simply because these bastards have not yet assumed room temperature. Read some more milblogs and find out just how things are changing in our favor. Find out how civilians are responding to the terrorist asshats by turning them in and leading our forces to weapons caches and IEDs.
Sometimes the best plans don't result in a happy ending by the end of the hour. It's more like a mini series that's going to last years. I have the patience to wait.

Thank you for attending and capturing so many great shots.
Did I meet you?? If you come to WR again, please introduce yourself. I would be honored to meet you.
Regarding NYkrindc: I guess it is to your credit that you allow his post to remain. If I wanted to read that drivel, there are many places to go. I don't expect it here.
One thing I can not allow to go unchallenged by NYkrindc is this statement:
"neither did we have an attack after the 1993 bombing of the WTC until the bombing of the USS Cole by al Qaeda (at least a major attack on the US or US forces"
Hey NYkrindc - What about these:
10/93 Black Hawk Down - Mogadishu, Somalia .....
18 DEAD
3/8/95 US Diplomats gunned down in Karacki, Pakistan ..... 2 DEAD
4/19/95 Oklahoma City Bombing (please don't try the "no terrorist connection" crap).....

7 DEAD - 40 Injured
6/25/95 Khobar Towers military barracks bombed in Dhahran, Saudia Arabia .....

1/3/00 AQ planned to bomb the USS Sullivans in Yemen. The over loaded bomb boat sank before detonating!
10/12/00 USS Cole bombed .....
17 DEAD - 39 injured
To borrow the title of a new song sung at the rally .....
