Sound Off on the Nutt

Gravatar It's about time children of all ages were made to go to their rooms without dinner, or voice for that matter. I seem to recal the instance when mom said you were smart. I think it was when you finally decided to strike out on your own and prove yourself worthy of being a real thinker, and not a shadow of the life expected from middle class morons.
Never stop thinking, it keeps your head in tune.

Gravatar Mike Fay's artwork is awesome. Go check it out.

Gravatar Had already seen Mike Fay's work, he is incredibley talented.

Your post is a great read and a great study.

Gravatar First time I've seen Fay's work. Loved it instantly. Would like to buy lithographs of it! God bless our troops!!!

Gravatar GN, thank you for both sharing the artwork (which is absolutely wonderful) and for your post. There are at least a dozen senators who were the center of attention last week, who need to go to bed without supper (or their flasks)!

Gravatar Outstanding post. I reread it several times.

BTW I am-- in my second life here-- a Graphic Design teacher. I work with teens and young adults. I can attest to that 15 year old mentality. I can attest to the artsy fartsy community eating lotus blossoms and claiming to be 'free and open minded' while they refuse to grant to others (conservatives) the same dignity and respect they feel they are entitled to.

Your stuff just gets better and better.

Gravatar His art is amazing, my wife is an artist and she was amazed with how good his stuff was!! Great stuff, GN!!

Gravatar Great post Gunn! Your last paragraph encapsulated my sentiments and that of many.

Gravatar Great post, I love this guy and his art work. reminds me of Willard Gayhart. You do wonderfull work on your Blog. Can I adopt you? there may be an old shot gun it it for ya.

Gravatar I have to take a brief break to say, GunnNutt, that this is one of the best posts you have written. I love the fact that you put Mike Fay's work throughout the piece, to remind us, in parallel to every turn of your commentary, that great work and critical thinking are so often marginalized by political intolerance.

Gravatar Here too coming from stage, cartoonery, graphic arts and user-interface design thing. But not as good as him. It's not that hard and tortured or as glamorous as the Left likes to suggest or imagine, except for the bohemian lifestyle they seek to enjoy. It does require a lot of really serious discipline and constantly looking hard at things in order to see them as they are and not as you wish them to be. I imagine that discipline, coming from a Marine, is pretty well honed - perhaps more than other art-seekers.

Gravatar Enjoyed the artwork and the post. Great information and visuals. Keep up the good work.

Gravatar Dershowitz might not want to die in this eternity. He might want to wait till the next one. I know my father used to get upset when I told him to butt out because I wasn't listening to him. I also didn't appreciate the receipts that I received as payment for my 'humor.' My father was a Msgt (E-6).

Gravatar Sorry, make that E-7, been a long time.

Gravatar All - my deepest apologies for not responding to your terrific comments. I'm a slacker!

POP - will I have to wrestle DPT for that shotgun???

Insol - Are you calling the rest of my posts crap? If so, I completely agree!

keith - I hadn't thought about art from the discipline angle. That's a great observation.

jim b - How do you do it? I think I'd end up getting fired after strangling one (or more) of the students!

Mike H - The good professor is undoubtedly confident he can argue his way into heaven.

Gravatar To POP: I want a shot at the shotgun too!!!
