Wow. All I can say is that the only thing scarier than allowing anyone that wants to, to carry a gun is thinking of the author of this angry outburst having access to one.
If there had been an armed shopkeeper or customer in the right place at the right time, this tragedy could easily have been minimized or avoided.
Lisa, you would be talking differently if the someone like theold Gunscribe had been able to save some of these lives.

It's not "anyone that wants to"...it's anyone that wants to AND isn't restricted from doing so by the various sanity/criminal/etc restrictions AND successfully completes the certification training.
If concealed carry was allowed to be done right, with the proper checks in place and without this exact type of shortsightedness and fear, we would absolutely see the benefits of being defended by a stranger rather than being pointlessly killed by a stranger.
Please open your mind & heart and really think about this topic - nobody should need to lose their loved ones like this, especially while out Christmas shopping or hanging out with their friends in an area generally thought of as being safe.

I carry everyday because of exactly situations like this.
"This is what happens when you restrict the ability of people to protect themselves".-----This is absolutely the truth, although people don't want to hear it. People like to believe that "someone else" is responsible for their safety, when in fact, we are ALL responsible for OURSELVES.
Even though the police responded quickly, there was still enough time for several people to be injured.
Several tragedies like this have been avoided when the would-be killer was confronted by an armed citizen or armed off-duty cop such as at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City.
It is high time we end victim disarmament zones. It is now well proven that they only serve to disarm the victims, not the criminals.

"Gun Free" zones Don't work because Criminals DO NOT OBEY LAWS!! GET IT?!?
On the other hand, peaceful, law-abiding citizens DO. So what do you end up with? Well, only criminals have the guns then. A true recipe for disaster if there ever was one. Then, you have to call the cops and wait for them to show up with THEIR guns-- and hope you don't get shot in the meantime.
Why not just have a sign on the malls that says "No Murdering Allowed"?? That would be just as ineffective. Don't blame an inanimate object.
