You'd think that state supported educational institutions might at least be expected to honor the plain language of the US Constitution.
---
Do you also note that anti-gun liberals always describe law-abiding folks armed with guns as "running around" with them? As if strapping on a mohaska prevented one from going about his own business and caused aimless agitation. They just don't get it.

"Now just because you think you need incredible amounts of training to know that your about to be raped or car jacked with your kids in the back seat it doesn't mean the rest of us do."
Gold.
Though I'm guessing that the thought of having to take on the responsibility of having kids terrifies the nincompoops on that ed. staff as much as the responsibilities of carrying a handgun. When these smug little shits grow up, they'll look back and be astonished at how stupid they sounded..... if they live long enough to grow up.

Let's not even get into the whole "police . . . undergo an incredible amount of firearms training" belief.
Ask anyone who sells gun cleaning supplies and ammo how many "Only Ones" never touch their weapons between quarterly mandatory shoots and annual requalification. These skills are perishable, and any serious civilian shooter throws more lead downrange in a month (or week) than some officers do in a year.
I've spoken with some officers who don't even know what make and model of gun they're carrying.

I bet this guy is glad that his rabbi school does not ban guns on campus
Jerusalem yeshiva student: I shot the terrorist twice in the head
A student at the Jerusalem yeshiva where eight people were killed in a terrorist attack Thursday evening shot the gunman who opened fire inside the religious school’s crowded library, neutralizing him before a soldier killed him with an automatic rifle.
Yitzhak Dadon said he climbed onto the roof of a nearby building, armed with a rifle, and waited for the gunman to emerge.
“He came out of the library spraying automatic fire … the terrorist came to the entrance and I shot him twice in the head,” he said.

Good stuff Tim!
The knuckleheads running the U of Nebraska system just don't get it. Of course all students are safe now, they've banned plastic guns.

I think Brother Callahan stated the issue of being able to identify a goblin very well lo these many years ago:
When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher's knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross!

Ordinary police do not spend as much on firearms training as you might think. As an airport police firearms instructor the training I had up to 3x per year probably has not been done since I retired 18 months ago.
My Chief and the airport administration thought training was to expensive and the cost went up every year. They also firmly believed nothing would EVER happen there.
Some police officers, those that understand the value of firearms training spend their own money to prevent loosing their skills.
Administrations look at the bottom line and in this day and age it is only going to get worse
