Not making excuses but I don't think they look at the next days patients lists till the day before...so would know nil of Miss Rs allergy. Suxs really that PHI counts for zilch at times...so now youhave to wait for RCH or ENT hosp? If RCH will you have to wait or will the PHI count for a push up the list(if there is one)? Could they not do an allergy test (skin test) to check the severity of the reaction? They do this with penicillian reactions..they reaction on the skin gives them an idea as to the overall body reaction to the substance. If there's swelling at the site, redness or blistering, etc they know reaction will be 100x, if less the allergy has decreased. Happens with people allergic to penicillin a lot, and some fabrics, etc. GL anyway hope you find out soon.
Oh wow. That's got to be a huge letdown! I hope all has been worked out for you guys by now. It's hell to be fobbed off at the last minute, after waiting for this. Especially for a kid.
