Polygraph "testing" is pseudoscience, and it is irresponsible to rely on them for any purpose.

George:
I disagree. Pseudoscience, or not, polygraphs can be used as a tool at the right time and place. If a polygraph helps me urge my client toward a course of action I objectively believe is in his best interests, then it is quite responsible for me to rely upon it. If a passed polygraph helps me convince a prosecutor to take a course of action in my client's best interest, why shouldn't I rely upon it for that purpose, too? If a polygraph helps my client's family understand their loved-one's arguments and claims are not based on objective, provable facts, why shouldn't I use it there, as well?
