I've read this at quit a few "conservative" sites since the ruling...I while morally do not favor same sex marriage, the ratification of a contract is something that should be left to the state. If you want your church to recognize the union, the church does it's thing, and you're good with God.

Yeah, OK. I can go with that. But they'd better be warned: Gay Marraige will only lead to Gay Divorce. And then the divorce attorneys and judges. That won't be so hot.

LOL cappy..and thats what I said the other day..once they realize about divorce and community property laws I expect to see fewer Gays wanting to get married

The problem with all this is that the redefinition of terms doesn't solve the problem. The problem isn't that the state is in the marriage license business. The problem is that society longer considers marriage a sacred commitment. Tearing down the legal protections of marriage will hardly elevate it's standing as a sacred union.

marriage as a scared commitment is a relatively new thing as history goes..in fact marriage has been nothing more than a legal contract to keep women as chattel until the last century
