Funny. But I get really irritated at people who mispronounce words. I mean, I am deaf and I know how to pronounce, so if you can hear, you definitely should know!
I correct people on these things.
People say "cochlear" wrong too.
I am the pronunciation police! LOL
Once someone asked me if I was death , meaning deaf. I said "do I look like death?"

Funny one!! I have never heard someone say that DEATH instead of DEAF but I am sure that you have...Hope you are not working as much now. I had a whole day off and i am so thankful. Even fixing supper and you know I hate to cook. I cleaned out our closet and took 5 bags of things to Good Will. Been a productive day.

I had to delurk from my feed reader for this one. Great strip and very appropriate. There are quite a few words people mispronounce that bug me and some I let slide because they can't be expected to know better (not commonly used words for example) Death vs. Deaf kind of surprises me.

I've been called death a few times and I always respond with, "Hmmm, last time I checked, I still had a pulse." That's said with a smile and two fingers on my pulse point.
